The opportunity

H&R Block, the world's leader in tax preparation services,1 is looking for driven leaders to manage our retail offices, and the fabulous teams of people that work within them, to accelerate our seasonal tax business. Our positions will be filled as an Office Manager I, II, or III depending upon experience, and we also offer career progression to multi-unit office management positions and year-round roles to those with an interest and drive to grow!

Leverage your leadership skills to:

  • Coach and lead the team to deliver outstanding client service and exceed targeted goals

  • Manage office staffing, operations, and logistics for a tax office

  • Grow the business through developing local partnerships, managing office community involvement, and modeling and coaching sales and new client growth tactics

  • Assist in the development and execution of office-level growth plans

  • Assist in recruiting and interviewing tax office associates

  • Become a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products and, as needed, prepare accurate and complete tax returns for clients

Minimum Qualifications

What you'll bring to the team

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Leadership and supervisory skills to guide and develop associates

  • A desire to problem solve and passion for customer service

  • Demonstrated aptitude for business plan execution and desire to grow the business

  • Strong communication, multi-tasking, and organizational skills

  • Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course

  • Annual completion of 18-hour continuing education and ability to meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements

  • 2+ years in a Tax Professional role is preferred

  • Bilingual Spanish speaking skills a big plus, but not required

Qualifications: * High School Graduate or GED * Four years general office and administrative support experience OR two years general office and administrative support plus an associate degree in business or related field * Extensive experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook * Excellent interpersonal and organization skills * Ability to perform detailed work in a timely manner with accuracy and thoroughness * Demonstrated excellence in both written and verbal communication skills * Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, handle pressure and delicate situations while effectively carrying out job responsibilities * Ability to work harmoniously and cooperatively with a wide variety of people and all levels of staff * Flexibility to occasionally adjust schedule to work evenings or weekends for training & recruitment * Possession of valid California driver license, access to a reliable automobile and minimum state required auto insurance Responsibilities: * Assist with the supervision and management of volunteers for Patient Care, Courier, Bereavement, Family Group, Administrative Support, Special Projects and Pet Therapy Dogs and other volunteer categories as required * In collaboration with the Volunteer Director, assist with recruiting, screening, interviewing, and on-boarding volunteer applicants * Assign appropriate patient care volunteers to hospice patients/families and monitor interactions, services, documentation and other components of volunteer activity * Assign and monitor Administrative Support and Special Projects volunteers to appropriate tasks * In collaboration with the Volunteer Director, plan and participate in volunteer recognition events and activities * Maintain volunteer personnel files according to agency, policy, State and Federal regulations * Provide administrative support to the Clinical Volunteer Director and the Clinical Volunteer Program Snowline offers competitive pay rates, full benefits package and wonderful people to work with.
