Preferred Qualifications
Experience with complex accounting systems.
Experience training others on business process systems.
Experience using graphic design software (such as Adobe Creative Cloud products and Canva) for producing program and event advertisements.
Experience with social media promotion pertaining to special events and academic program recruitment.
Position Summary
The Office/Clerical Lead for the Department of Public Administration and Policy in the School of Public and International Affairs is the sole support for the Department. The Office/Clerical Lead serves as the main contact for the department and works independently to oversee general operations. In addition, the Office/Clerical Lead coordinates faculty recruitment, special events, and internal and external communications (social media). The Office/Clerical Lead prepares and initiates departmental business processes that flow to SPIA's shared services business team. The Office/Clerical Lead reports directly to the Head of the Department of Public Administration and Policy.

Communications
Update website and social media content weekly with news about alumni, faculty, and students. Take photos at events for use in advertising and social media.
Create website material (student and faculty profiles, department activities and honors, etc.).
Create and implement social media marketing campaigns for strategic events and ads for target audiences.
Design conference ads and posters for programs.
Collaborate with marketing team at the School and University level to execute promotions within strategic brand plan.

Project and Event Management
Plan, implement, and execute event logistics for department events.
Scheduling conference room and classroom spaces.
Organize and book travel for guests, speakers, and candidates.
Negotiate catering for events.
Delegate tasks to other PADP staff engaged in projects and events

Financial Support
SPIA Business Team liaison
Faculty staff, Glad Program, & guest travel reimbursement
Faculty, staff, Glad Program & guest non-travel reimbursement.
Track department & GLAD Program transactions and spending
Department & GLAD Program purchasing/ordering/invoicing
Percentage of time 25 Duties/Responsibilities
Administrative Support
Serve as primary department contact in person, on phone, and via email.
Coordinate the course evaluation process each semester.
Provide administrative support for department head.
Maintain departmental master schedules.
General office and departmental management (building, keys, mail, etc.).
Supply and promotional item inventory maintenance
Property control
Building lock, alarms, after-hour access
Back up to student services role
