The Office Engineer I provides technical & administrative information to others working on a project to ensure that the work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instruction; trouble-shoots engineering related installation problems. The Office Engineer II provides technical & administrative information to others working on a project to ensure that the work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instruction; trouble-shoots engineering related installation problems.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The incumbent is responsible for:

Maintaining system documentation and maintenance records and generate weekly and/or monthly summary status reports.

Spending four (4) to six (6) hours per week staying current on industry trends and available products and services.

Performing staging and setup as needed for project support and for self-instruction.

Working closely with Systems Engineers to install and configure networks based on an Installation Design

Package (IDP) that satisfy the customer's needs.

Researching equipment from a multitude of manufactures to resolve technical issues during installation and testing.

Working closely with Design Department to identify and correct design problems during the design cycle.

Suggesting process improvements and cost savings to aid Implementation Department for future installs.

Providing systems support for a large-scale, high performance computing center to include the installation and management of computer systems, workstations, operating systems, peripherals, and system interfaces; works with senior staff to monitor system usage and evaluate performance against defined performance goals; additional duties include the development and maintenance of systems documentation.

Provides designs for automation systems including a list of quantities and types of materials used.

Provide user guideline documentations and manuals for user end custom programs and applications.

Years of Experience:

This position requires at least zero (0) - two (2) years of experience as a Systems Engineer or Controls Engineer or in a related field. Direct project technical execution experience with at least two (2) of the following industrial application settings: Material Handling Systems (Conveyor, etc.), Pharmaceutical Process Control, Semiconductor Manufacturing Industry, Water & Waste Water Treatment, Electrical Power Distribution, and Security & Surveillance Systems.

The incumbent must have:

At least two to three (2-3) years experience with maintaining/testing industrial network systems.

At least two to three (2-3) years experience in reading and interpreting AutoCAD and Visio drawing programs.

Formal Education:

The incumbent must possess a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or a related degree.

Personal Skills:

The ability to work with difficult individuals and retain agreeable working relationships.

The flexibility to handle changing requirements, deadlines, and expectations by corporate executives.

Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Work Experience:

The incumbent must have:

Knowledge of network architecture (Ethernet, leased lines, etc.).

Knowledge of TCP/IP and back office applications including SQL Server, enterprise backup systems, etc.

Personal Traits:

Knowledge of design techniques.

The ability to work with end customers.

Pass a background investigation and a drug test.

Stable work history.

Valid work permit.

Many of those who separate from the military have transition plans while others find becoming a civilian a daunting task. The Department of Labor (DOL) Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS) program requires contractor services to support these transitioning Servicemen and women through its highly successful Transition Assistance Program (TAP) that is offered world-wide to conduct job assistance workshops, employment counseling, apprenticeship program placements and employer outreach. The DOL VETS TAP program is in need of gifted and talented Employment Facilitators who have prior experience teaching / instructing Military personnel transition to civilian professional and vocational occupations; who are able to guide the transitioning Military Servicemembers in identifying goals while also assisting them with recognizing any employment or education gaps; and, who can conduct large group instruction and provide individual counseling on the job search process. The ideal Employment Facilitator candidate would have excellent time management skills, able to work independently, and prior experience providing Military Servicemembers (Active, Reserve, National Guard), family members, and Veterans a comprehensive understanding of preparing for civilian employment, job searching, job application processes, networking, technical training opportunities, credentialing, and assistance in preparing for civilian employment and participation in technical programs and schools. Qualifications Employment Facilitator Qualifications: * Associate's degree or three (3) years of experience as a professional trainer or facilitator. * Knowledgeable of the workplace, jobs, and requirement for entry into those jobs. * Demonstrated ability to provide training to groups with up to 50 participants; individual career counseling experience. * Proficient in MS Windows and Office. * Able to communicate effectively with Military clients, be comfortable instructing and speaking in front of a group, be observant of others, possess the ability to engage an audience, and respond to inquiries independently. * Some travel may be required.
