POSITION SUMMARY The incumbent is responsible for supervision of the front office staff and maintaining the functioning of all front office duties. Front office duties include, but are not limited to: ensuring patients and visitors are greeted in a friendly and timely manner, managing telephone communications, scheduling appointments, consults, and referrals, obtaining accurate demographic and insurance information from patients and other healthcare providers, as well as creating and editing schedule templates.
In the capacity of a non-patient care patient population coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for reviewing charts against a checklist to identify deficiencies in documentation of the care plan components that may impact continuity of care. She/he communicates with patients to avoid gaps in quality measures. She/he maintains searchable logs reflecting practice efforts to improve patient outcomes.
The incumbent contributes to the care team huddles by highlighting patients with improvement opportunities on the daily schedule per payer reports. The employee functions in a normal office environment with minimal exposure to chemicals or communicable diseases. The majority of time is spent sitting, standing, and walking short distances.
A significant amount of time is spent performing repetitive motions of hands and fingers. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED N/A SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION A high school diploma or GED as well as a minimum of one year medical office experience is required (clinic experience strongly preferred). Must possess the ability to operate standard office equipment. Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with all customers.
Must be able to maintain composure when confronted with fast-paced and stressful situations;. Must be able to work independently, prioritize clinic needs, be extremely detail oriented, adept at multi-tasking, and a strong team-player . Must have the ability to learn moderate and/or advanced computer software. Must be flexible to work varied hours as needed. Bilingual skills encouraged but not mandatory.
