Coordinates and performs the clerical, receptionist and scheduling duties of the Outpatient Infusion Department. Accurate and complete records of registrations, charges, and scheduling must be maintained, receive/direct visitors, and order entry via electronic communication. Responsible for assuring pertinent information is gathered for the patients and the staff of the Outpatient Infusion Department. All functions are performed in ethical manner.
Prepares/completes charts on new admissions
Processes physician orders and secures nurses review of orders
Processes STAT orders immediately and notifies nurse of order
Pages Code Blue or other Emergency codes immediately upon direction of staff
Enters charges for the department
Promptly answers telephone and patient call system and carries out requests
Keeps census sheets updated and accurate
Stocks charts adequately and required forms
Receives/Dispatches telephone calls
Performs all clerical duties
Registers all patients
Education: Prefer completion of high school education or equivalent (GED).
Experience: Prefer a minimum of one (1) year experience as a secretary in an office setting. Knowledge of basic office equipment, computer and word processing skills.
Specific Qualifications: Must maintain proficiency and requirements of position. CPR is preferred.
