POSITION SUMMARY: Performs clerical duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Because all Archdiocesan employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work.

  • Performs general clerical work.

  • File

  • Scan documents

  • Remove staples from documents

  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Education and Experience

Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, typically:

  • Active member of a Roman Catholic faith community.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Bilingual skills in English/Spanish.

  • Valid California Driver's License.

Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of:

  • Modern office methods and procedures.

  • Record-keeping techniques.

Ability to:

  • Operate computer system and related equipment.

  • Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.

  • Sit for sustained periods of time on a daily basis.

  • Perform tasks requiring intermittent bending, stooping, and walking.

  • Sustain frequent movement of the fingers, wrists, hands, and arms.

Teachers will receive a competitive salary and health care and retirement benefits Responsibilities * Type and prepare reports, form letters, memoranda, and other materials. * Maintain records, files, and other information. * Record a variety of data, check forms and records for completeness and accuracy, and excerpt data from records as needed. * Perform office receptionist duties. * Search files for required information, compiles data, and prepares reports. * Operate a variety of machines, such as copiers, duplicators, calculators, word processors, office computers, or computer terminal. * Interface with parents on a daily basis providing information related to the school. * Supervise students during their lunch period and maintain accurate meal counts according to establish meal counting/collecting procedures. * Translate between English and Spanish for general school wide parent, teacher created or community documents. * Prepares written translations of instructional and educational materials, bulletins, correspondence, minutes, and forms, and produce verbatim translations of formal meetings using idiomatic expressions when appropriate. * Provide oral interpretation during formal meetings involving parents and staff. Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretations at school, community and classroom and ion legal situations such as Individualized Education Program (I.E.P.) meetings and expulsion/suspension hearings. * Reviews translated material submitted by school personnel and edits for accuracy of meaning, grammar, and syntax. Qualifications * Modern office practices, procedures and equipment. * Record-keeping techniques. * Operation of a computer terminal, computer programs, and data entry techniques. Computer programs include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook. * Office methods and equipment operation, including filing systems and telephone techniques and etiquette. * Correct English usage, spelling, grammar, punctuation, vocabulary and arithmetic. * Oral and written communication skills, including letter and report writing. * Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. * Learn, interpret, and apply specific rules, laws, policies, and procedures while exercising good judgment in a variety of procedural situations. * Perform clerical work of average difficulty with accuracy and speed. * Deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring diplomacy, friendliness, poise and firmness. * Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. * Understand and carry out oral and written directions. * Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. * Make arithmetical calculations quickly and accurately. * Type at a rate of 50 words per minute from a clear copy. * Maintain records and prepare reports. * Effectively and efficiently operate district-approved computer programs, databases and on-line systems. * Efficiently and effectively operate office machines and equipment for sustained periods of time. * Complete work with many interruptions. * Understand and work within scope of authority. * Meet schedules and timelines. * Ability to speak Spanish is desirable.
