The Office - Clerical position is responsible for accomplishing clerical duties assigned to them by the department manager or supervisor. • Ensure assigned duties are accomplished accurately, updated and reported in a timely fashion. • Follow up on all open assignments to ensure timely resolution. • Responsible for answering all incoming phone calls and directing them to the appropriate party, requiring knowledge of Company departments and their responsibilities to effectively transfer calls to the correct individuals. • Maintain data-entry as it relates to office supplies orders, re-stock orders and subsequent related information as required by the department head. • Communicate potential areas of concern which could affect business with management. • Perform other tasks and duties as occasionally required by the needs of the business and as requested by the manager. • Provide office administration support by assisting with other clerical duties when peer is out of the office or when other projects require additional assistance. • Represent Ben E. Keith Co. with professionalism, maintain a positive attitude and following dress code.

Job Qualifications

  • Two years' experience working in a clerical environment with equivalent duties and responsibilities. • High school degree or equivalent education. • Wholesale foodservice distribution experience preferred. • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service, including needs assessment and meeting quality standards for services. • Ensure professionalism by regularly maintaining confidential information/material. • Ability to relate to all types of people and levels in and outside the organization, employing social perceptiveness, active listening skills and adjusting actions and style of communication when appropriate to ensure effectiveness. • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide support to personnel at all levels within the company. • Knowledge of and ability to competently use MS Office, internet and e-mail; willingness to learn new software as needed including additional office machines and the multi-line phone system. • Must be a self-starter with the opportunity to make decisions without supervision in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to multi-task, requiring continual attention to detail, organization, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. • Display excellent work ethic through ability to receive and follow directions and complete assigned tasks. • Valid driver's license is required if driving to perform company business. • Commitment to Ben E.
