Office-Based Addiction Treatment Clinician - Lmhp-E

Hours: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week), Monday through Friday, 8:30 am

Position Summary

Office-Based Addiction Treatment (OBAT) is a substance use treatment model designed to be integrated with psychosocial and/or behavioral health services. Horizon serves 50-60 individuals at any given time through this evidence-based program. Individuals receive opioid assistive treatment with suboxone on a weekly basis for the first three months of the program.

The Office-Based Addiction Treatment (OBAT) Clinician will provide substance use treatment functions of intake, orientation, the administration of substance abuse assessment instruments, recovery and relapse prevention planning, substance use treatment, substance abuse or dependence crisis intervention, client education, referral activities, record keeping, and consultation with other professionals.

This individual functions as part of a team that provides medication-assisted substance use treatment. The team includes a prescriber, case manager, peer specialist, and administrative assistant.

Required Education and Experience for Clinician

• LMHP-E; Resident in Counseling

• Master's degree from an accredited college/university in an applicable human services field.

• One year of relevant substance use treatment experience.

• Eligible to register as LMHP-E with the VA Board of Counseling within three months of hire.

Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT); emergency interventions; family, group, and individual therapy; psychosocial education; risk assessments; substance abuse interventions.

• Knowledge of the recovery process and relapse prevention methods, signs, and symptoms of substance abuse.

• Ability to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships.

• Ability to promote positive, collaborative, and professional working relations among coworkers and representatives in the community.

• Ability to perform clinical interviews in order to obtain information and to formulate treatment plans.

• Ability to complete clinical documentation within established expectations and by communicated deadlines.

• Ability to analyze situations accurately and develop appropriate responses or techniques.

• Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver's license.
