Job Description and Duties

Under close supervision of the Staff Services Manager I, the Office Assistant (General) is an entry level position that shall perform the following duties:

Serves as the first point of contact for those who visit the Commission's office at the information counter/office. Registers visitors in log and provides visitor's badges when necessary. Contacts appropriate division for questions and concerns from walk-in customers and those with appointments. Assists educators using computers in lobby. Responds efficiently, accurately, courteously, and timely to customer service inquiries in person and over the phone.

Handles application packets and corresponding payments. Processes credit cards and issues receipts for payments made in the office. Accepts mail and packets from Post Office and delivery services. Issues receipts for payments made in office. Prepares letters for mailing.

Department Information

The Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) is conveniently located in the downtown area near many popular restaurants, shops, public transportation, and affordable parking options. The purpose of the CTC is to ensure integrity and high quality in the preparation, conduct and professional growth of the educators who serve California's public schools. Its work shall reflect both statutory mandates that govern the Commission and research on professional practices.

CTC is moving to a new location in the May Lee State Office Complex (MLSOC) in May 2024.
