Responsible for the daily office tasks, this is a regular full time position with a workweek expectation of 40 hours per week.


  • Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters and maintains positive relationships with co-workers and supervisors. This would include but not be limited to such actions: resolution of conflicts in a positive manner; courteous treatment of staff, clients and visitors; respect of others' property and person, professional and appropriate communication to and about co-workers, supervisors and subordinates.

    Support the Mission of The Salvation Army by treating every donor, contact and colleague with respect and dignity, and without discrimination of any kind. Screens all incoming calls and voicemail traffic to conserve staff time. Answers inquiries and appropriately guides callers to resources.

    Greet visitors, emergency service clients, and program participants and direct to appropriate person or program. Records relevant statistical data in a timely manner. Answer telephones, provide information, and transfer calls.

    Review and respond to voicemails. Maintain awareness of client or caller needs, as well as knowledge of current corps programs and procedures. Maintain office supplies and place orders as needed.

    Take staff meeting minutes, type and disseminate as needed. Assist with seasonal activities to include Christmas effort. Prepare and send thank you cards as needed.

    Receipt all incoming cash. Distribute periodicals. Maintain and print corps information brochures.

    Point person for copier needs and reports. Prepare mail daily. Open mail with another staff member and distribute to proper people.

    Prepares cover sheets and scans invoices and deposits to book keeper. Support staff with mailings as needed. Maintain current and accurate office files. Perform other related duties as assigned.


High School Diploma/GED with some experience and or/education in office administration; and bookkeeping/payroll/social services experience is helpful. Must be well organized and detail orientated, able to maintain strict confidentiality, be mature and professional when dealing with others, computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Must be willing to support the mission of The Salvation Army, pass required background checks, clerical testing and meet the drivers MVR qualifications. It must be understood by the incumbent that the provisions of Safe From Harm will apply upon commencement of employment and also understood that the required Safe From Harm training must be satisfactorily completed within the first thirty (30) days of employment.

Client development An effective marketing communications program is only as strong as the person who implements it on a daily basis.
