The Financial Office Assistant I is a training underfill position: upon successful completion of the qualifying period and the training program, which is up to one year, the successful candidate will be non-competitively promoted to Financial Office Assistant II. The annual salary range at the II level is $34,049.60 - $52,728.00. This recruitment will establish an Open Competitive and Promotional list to fill current and/or future vacancies which may occur within the next six months at either level. Note: This recruitment is limited to the first 200 completed applications received, and will close without further notice when that number is reached, even if it is prior to the closing date posted on this job announcement. The Department of Aviation reserves the right to call only the most qualified applicants to the hiring interview. Requirements Equivalent to graduation from high school, one year of full-time general clerical experience, and one year of full-time financial or accounting assistant experience. Additionally, at the II level, one year of full-time financial or accounting assistant experience. Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the "Education" and "Work Experience" sections of the application. Licensing and Certification: Specified positions may require possession of a valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of hire. Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination. Working Conditions: Work both indoors and outside in all weather conditions. Assists with the production of various periodic billings; receives checks by mail and processes and balances accordingly; audits accounts receivable. Troubleshoot AVI activity for trip trends that require immediate action (Physical and computer). Answers factual questions regarding departmental, County or agency policies and ordinances. Receives cash/credit/check transactions at front window; sorts, audits, and counts cash revenue according to established vault guidelines, including opening and closing cash drawer deposits. Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of set customer service standards and applies them to customer related situations and transactions. Assists customers with alternative solutions by offering suggestions within defined policies and procedures. Monitors real time trip activity for accuracy and troubleshoot AVI activity for trip trends that require immediate action. Performs a variety of general office support duties such as typing, proofreading, filing, assisting with Employee Permits and Parking Access Cards (PAC), answering the telephone and using standard office equipment. Matches invoices, receiving reports and other requests from AVI customer billing; ensures proper authorization and compliance with departmental, County or agency policies and procedures. Conducts data entry for parking enforcement revenue, fines, fees, deposits, and delinquency notifications. Inputs information to a computer system or manually audits computer generated reports for reconciliation of AVI activity. Also prepares payment requests or reimbursements for finance. Assist Security, Law Enforcement, and Parking Management with vehicle investigations and sensitive secured information. Provides one-on-one training for New Hire Employees Hires for AVI bike patrol. Maintains accounting, financial, and statistical records and prepares periodic or special reports. Posts information to spreadsheets and reports; totals and balances figures; proofs data and makes corrections as required. Processes returned checks, conveys to proper person to effect collection and makes appropriate entries to files. Assist with departmental cost accounting and budget preparation for AVI supplies by posting information, record retention, typing materials or totaling figures.
