Position: Office Assistant

Department: Parks, Arts, Recreation, and Community Services

Classification: Temporary/Part Time

Rate: $ 21.82- $25.26

Non-Exempt

  • Overtime Eligible

Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Manager

  • Recreation, the Office Assistant will assist office staff by performing various duties.

Example of Duties & Responsibilities:

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Handle incoming calls and other communications.

  • Manage filing system and record information as needed.

  • Manage volunteer member database.

  • Assist in planning and organizing events, scheduling, and overseeing members.

  • Assist in creating social media content for promotional needs.

  • Attend community activities.

  • Creating spreadsheets for data entry.

  • Assist, inputting, routing, and processing financial requests such as purchase orders, invoices, and payments.

  • Assist in coordinating logistics for special events, including venue set up, equipment rentals, contracts, and vendor coordination.

  • Assist with registration, check-in, and participant coordination during events and programs.

  • Assist with setup, execution and teardown of events and programs.

  • Perform general office duties and run errands.

  • Support members to build a better relationship with the community.

  • Maintain supply inventory.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

Education and Experience:

  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance.

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university majoring in Business or a related field is desirable.
