Position: Office Assistant
Department: Parks, Arts, Recreation, and Community Services
Classification: Temporary/Part Time
Rate: $ 21.82- $25.26
Non-Exempt
Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Manager
Example of Duties & Responsibilities:
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Handle incoming calls and other communications.
Manage filing system and record information as needed.
Manage volunteer member database.
Assist in planning and organizing events, scheduling, and overseeing members.
Assist in creating social media content for promotional needs.
Attend community activities.
Creating spreadsheets for data entry.
Assist, inputting, routing, and processing financial requests such as purchase orders, invoices, and payments.
Assist in coordinating logistics for special events, including venue set up, equipment rentals, contracts, and vendor coordination.
Assist with registration, check-in, and participant coordination during events and programs.
Assist with setup, execution and teardown of events and programs.
Perform general office duties and run errands.
Support members to build a better relationship with the community.
Maintain supply inventory.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
Understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Strong communication skills.
Deal tactfully and effectively with staff, participants, and the public.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, Teams, and Outlook)
Education and Experience:
Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance.
Currently enrolled in a college or university majoring in Business or a related field is desirable.
