Under the general supervision of the Metropolitan Police Sergeant of the Community Affairs Section, the incumbent is responsible for various clerical duties which include the following. Example of Duties: Receives and screens telephone calls into the division and takes and relays messages; answers inquiries and/or directs callers to proper areas.
Receives visitors to the division and services reasonable requests pertaining to and related to the functions of the department. Receives, records, and distributes all requests for speakers. Composes, edits, and/or types routine correspondence, reports, etc. for superior's review and approval.
Records the minutes of the division's staff meetings and any other related meetings, including the transcription, recording, and distribution of such minutes. Prepares the division's payroll, time and attendance (PT&A) records as required. Minimum Qualification Requirements Training and Experience:
A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school, and one year of clerical experience. License Requirement: None Knowledge of:
Office practices and procedures; filing methods and systems; correct English grammar, spelling and word usage; operation and maintenance of common office machines and equipment.
