The Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of Workers' Compensation, is recruiting foran Office Assistant I located in Juneau!

The position is in the General Government Unit (GGU) at a range 8.

What you will be doing:

As the receptionist, this position provides administrative/clerical assistance to the Juneau Workers Compensation office. Responsibilities include opening and distributing the mail, answering the main phone line, maintaining the division's email account, processing file requests, and maintaining office supplies.

The Division of Workers' Compensation is the agency charged with the administration of the Alaska Workers' Compensation Act in a fair and impartial manner to ensure the quick, efficient and predictable delivery of medical and indemnity benefits to injured workers at a reasonable cost to employers and insurance carriers. This position provides mission critical clerical support to the Division.

This is a great stepping-stone position, as the chosen candidate will have lots of opportunity for cross training. This position is located in the Department of Labor and Workforce Development building at 1111 W. 8th Ave Ste 305, Juneau, Alaska 99801. The building sits along the Gastineau Channel next to the Sea walk and Whale Sculpture.

Who we are: The Department of Education and Early Development's Alaska State Libraries, Archives, and Museums collects, preserves, and interprets Alaska's human and natural history for residents and visitors. We assist government agencies in the efficient management of their records, preserving permanently valuable government records that document Alaska's history and ensuring citizens have quality access to public information. We promote the development of libraries statewide for the benefit of all Alaskans. We are seeking a Grants and Inclusive Services Librarian III to coordinate grant programs that benefit Alaska's libraries and library patrons and to assist local library staff as they develop inclusive library services for Alaska's diverse population. What you will do: This Grants and Inclusive Services Coordinator Librarian III will manage the planning, implementation, oversight, and evaluation of grant programs offered to Alaska's libraries through the State Library. This position will serve as the State Data Coordinator, who compiles, reviews, and submits Alaska's public library statistics to the Institute of Museum and Library Services annually. The librarian III will consult with Alaskan librarians on implementing inclusive and equitable services to members of their diverse communities. This position will provide training and information resources to Alaska librarians on grants, statistics, and inclusive services. As a member of the Library Development unit, this Librarian III will collaborate with other librarian IIIs on projects of common concern and assist the librarian IIIs on financial management of their grant projects. Kashevaroff State Libraries, Archives, and Museums Building in downtown Juneau.
