Job Description: Overview

We are currently seeking a full-time Office Assistant for our Discovery House Bangor facility. Hours are early mornings to early afternoons Monday through Friday, typically 5:15 AM - 1:45 PM.

Discovery House Bangor, a member of Acadia Healthcare's Comprehensive Treatment Centers, is a part of the leader in medication assisted treatment for individuals seeking recovery from Substance Use Disorder. With full-circle care that includes a blend of therapies and the use of safe and effective medications, we are prepared to treat the entire disease, not just a piece of it.

Position Characteristics

The Office Assistant role will perform various administrative functions assigned in accordance with the office procedures of the clinic. Responsibilities may include answering telephones, billing, typing or word processing, office machine operation, and filing.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general administrative tasks assigned in accordance with the office procedures of the clinic and may include a combination of answering telephones, billing, typing or word processing, office machine operation, and filing;

  • Operate the front desk duties during peak hours or when primary staff in unavailable;

  • Sort, organize and maintain office records;

  • Assist with new patient enrollments as necessary;

  • Assist with various insurance/billing reports as necessary;

  • May assist with patient drug testing procedures;

  • Assist Medical Director and the Medical team in coordinating patient care,and,

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Previous administrative experience preferred

Hours are 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM, 5 days per week. Discovery House - Bangor, a member of Acadia Healthcare's Comprehensive Treatment Centers, is a part of the leader in medication assisted treatment for individuals seeking recovery from Opioid Use Disorder. With full-circle care that includes a blend of therapies and the use of safe and effective medications, we are prepared to treat the entire disease, not just a piece of it. Position Characteristics The Substance Abuse Counselor is a counseling professional who provides treatment and support to assist patients in their recovery from substance use disorder, such as alcohol use, opioid dependence, eating disorders, or other behavioral issues, assists with modifying problem behaviors; may also provide counseling services to families of patients through an outpatient setting. Responsibilities * Conducts individual counseling sessions, under supervision, as scheduled and documents as required; * Conducts group and/or family sessions, under supervision, as scheduled and documents as required; * May co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions; * Responsible for initial assessments, as well as follow up assessment, for patients; * Prepares individual treatment plan for each assigned patients; * Ensures all documentation regarding patient care, treatment and incidents are completed timely and in a clear, concise manner; * May act as a liaison between referral sources and patients; * Provides crisis intervention to patients, as needed; * May plan for aftercare for assigned patients; * May act as a liaison with insurance carriers, as requested; * May provide case management duties for patients, ensuring individualized quality care; * Evaluates patient's needs and determines if referrals to other programs or facilities is needed; and, * Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements * Bachelor's degree in social or health services field with 2+ years experience in counseling field; or bachelor's degree in other field with 4+ years experience in the counseling field; or Master's degree in social or health services field with 1 year professional work experience; degree must be from an accredited college or university Licenses/Certifications: * Licensed as Alcohol & Drug Counselor (LADC), required. Lincesed as Clinical Social Worder (LCSW) preferred.
