SUNY Delhi seeks a dynamic and engaging Office Assistant 1 to work in the Admissions Office. SUNY Delhi prides itself on being a welcoming college community for all. The Admissions Office is dedicated to helping to provide prospective students and their families the necessary information about SUNY Delhi to make an informed decision during the college selection process. The Office Assistant 1 will work as part of the admissions team.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing outstanding customer service to visitors, callers, and email correspondence.

  • Inputting data from recruit cards, electronically filing application materials, and posting deposits

  • Scheduling visits for families and prospective students.

  • Assisting with campus recruitment events

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications for the position are:

  • Must be reachable for appointment on a current permanent Civil Service eligible list for Office Assistant 1, have had previously held the permanent title of Office Assistant 1, or be eligible for transfer to this title.

  • Must have a strong attention to detail.

SUNY Delhi is seeking a highly energetic, engaging, and dynamic self-starter to join the Admissions staff as an Admissions Assistant. The Admissions Assistant will be part of the professional staff on the Admission team representing SUNY Delhi to prospective students on campus, at secondary schools, community colleges, and at off-campus events. Primary responsibilities include becoming familiar with admissions criteria for all SUNY Delhi academic programs. The successful candidate will review admissions applications, and provide detailed information to prospective students regarding on-campus curriculum, academic programs, residence hall programs, and financial assistance. A flexible schedule that includes evening, weekend hours, and substantial travel throughout New York and the surrounding states is required. Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical skills, and self-motivation are imperative to the success of this position. The Admissions Assistant works collaboratively with the faculty and staff in the Offices of Campus life, Residential Life, Registrar, and Student Financial Services by maintaining strong working knowledge of student policies and procedures within each of these departments. Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with high school counselors and other admissions professionals is vital. Job Responsibilities: * Manage a recruitment territory including annual visits to high schools, attending college fairs, hosting recruitment events, communication/outreach, and annual progress reports. * Review, track, complete, and yield applications and in-turn, enroll students for an assigned territory by performing a significant amount of outreach electronically and by phone. * Work with the Admissions Leadership team on Email and Text Communication applied throughout the enrollment cycle. * Provide a comprehensive schedule of recruitment activities and events, maintaining a detailed travel itinerary that includes budget information. * Support SUNY Delhi Recruitment, Enrollment, and Yield Events (Discover Delhi, Delhi Decision Day, Bronco Ready, and Welcome Weekend) * Assist with the day-to-day needs of the office by entering and updating applicant data, receiving phone calls, assisting with mail campaigns, providing admissions presentations, and facilitating campus tours. * This position will also attend professional meetings and conferences as required.
