Code Corp is looking for a highly skilled Solution Architect (Field Application Engineer) for their growing OEM image-based data collection and machine vision business. Reporting into sales and managed by the OEM business manager, your role will be missioned primarily to "eliminate all technical barriers to closing deals". In support of this mission, you will interface with global customers and be the liaison to Code's engineering groups owning each project from a technical perspective in both pre- and post-sales integrations. Product knowledge and project management skills are essential. You will be the expert on all OEM products, advising customers on integration and application-specific best practices. Internally you will communicate customer requirements and use-case specifics while owning the project management through completion, testing, and delivery. Although technical in nature this role also requires soft skills, business acumen and an understanding of the sales process. Salary will be commensurate with experience and will comprise a variable component tied to the OEM sales goal.


  • Eliminate technical barriers to closing business

  • Be the product technical expert for OEM and related products

  • Technical and project manager owner of OEM pre- and post-sale projects

  • Liaison between customer and engineering

  • Travel to customers to present technical information on products

  • Solve highly technical problems remotely and onsite

  • Front-line technical support for OEM products

  • Scope projects from a technical perspective and follow and manage through to completion

  • Support OEM sales manager in growing business

  • Travel to and support trade shows when necessary

  • Provide feedback for updating technical documentation

Minimum Requirements

  • 4-year degree in engineering electrical or computer engineering or similar

  • 5 years or more in a technical customer-facing role

  • Knowledge of at least one programming language, JavaScript, Java, C, C++

  • Basic knowledge of electronics, optics, digital imaging, and communications protocols

  • Multiple, concurrent project management and prioritization skills

  • Soft skills to help translate technical information to non-technical decision-makers

  • Ability to travel at least 50% or more globally

  • Microsoft office, salesforce


  • Experience in OEM data collection

  • Serial communications protocols

  • Image processing and/or machine vision experience

  • Embedded programming experience

  • Low-level image sensor controls

  • AI and machine learning knowledge/experience

  • Based in greater Salt Lake Area
