In this role, you will be responsible for the growth the Allison Transmission, Inc. (ATI) domestic and international military business. You will oversee business relationships with existing or potential Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) military tracked vehicle programs and their associated customers.

Essential functions:

  • Lead business relationships and responsibilities with domestic and international military vehicle OEMs to improve business growth in this sector.

  • Work with assigned military vehicle OEMs to provide responses for requests for proposals, certifications, NAFTA documents and quotations.

  • Assist OEM or end user customers with information regarding logistics and product updates.

  • Evaluate and execute customer product purchase orders.

  • Generate written responses to US Government for OEM customer failures, quality deficiencies or schedule deficiency report requests.

  • Represent Defense Programs at military industry tradeshows and similar events. Provide input for development and implementation of the annual marketing strategy.

  • Represent Defense Programs as part of Allison Transmission's internal business functions or development programs as assigned such as Pre-Sales Council and new product release programs.

  • Support ATI distributors by responding to service related inquiries, providing quotations and executing purchase orders.

  • Develop the five-year business volume forecast to support the annual business process.

  • Execute other business activities such as Planning Charters to support the annual business planning process.

  • Gather marketing information, competitor information and global contracts associated with assigned OEMs and identify transmissions involved with domestic and international OEM customer tracked vehicle contracts.

  • Obtain and maintain high degree knowledge of ATI products used in military vehicle applications while collaborating with military engineering to address customer business and technical matters.

  • Develop and maintain knowledge and compliance with ATI policies, ATI procedures, departmental procedures, ITAR/EAR requirements and methods of conducting business with Government personnel.

  • Guide OEM customer procurement personnel on commercial off the shelf products when used in Defense vehicle applications.

Education requirement:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:Required:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a sales, manufacturing, or engineering role

  • Previous sales or customer support experience

  • U.S. Person

  • Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills

  • Proven skill at generating clear, concise formal presentations for leadership

  • Proficient working with cross-functional business teams

  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills

  • High degree of integrity and business ethic

  • Current driver's license

Preferred:

  • Automotive vehicle, vehicle system, vehicle subsystem and integration experience

  • Experience with technical writing and communication with internal and external customers

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Knowledge of ATI policies, ATI business procedures, ITAR/EAR requirements and proper methods of conducting business with Government personnel

  • General knowledge of U.S. military organizations, vehicles and operations

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Experience with or knowledge of manufacturing distributor channels

Travel Required:

Up to 5%

The North America OEM Account Manager is responsible for managing a key OEM account within Allison, ensuring that we maintain and grow our business and seek new release opportunities with the OEM customer. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual who is creative, able to manage multiple priorities, adept at building relationships with customers, and drives win-win solutions to customer problems. The OEM Account Manager would be responsible for the development and execution of their OEM Account sales plans necessary to achieve Allison's growth objectives. Responsibilities would also include providing input into the development of the market demand forecast and SOP (Sales Operations Plan) sales demand forecast. This role offers broad opportunities for customer engagement including corporate, field and channel teams, and interacts with various functions and levels of the customer's organization. Key responsibilities include: * Support assigned OEM's during the release, price, promotion phase of transmission introduction, design and development * Develop relationships with all levels of key OEM management and personnel * Drive sales volume and growth to achieve Business Plan Objectives established * Negotiate Long Term Agreements and other commercial arrangements to drive business growth * Support distributor personnel with OEM management responsibilities * Represent Allison at Industry trade shows, exhibits, associations and meetings * Support development of sales and marketing plans for the commercial vehicle market * Provide input to monthly/annual forecasts and support Sales and Operations Planning Meetings for assigned OEM's * Present opportunities to increase market growth/development with target vocations, releases and strategic partnership opportunities with OEM's * Manage use of sales allowances, marketing budget, and other incentive programs * Provide industry update of competitive threats * Work with cross functional team to provide superior/exceptional OEM and end-user support Requirements: * Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Previous sales or customer support experience with Allison or other commercial component or vehicle manufacturer. * High level of interpersonal skills. * Highly self-motivated. * Strong analytical and technical skills with specific focus on integration with chassis and powertrain. * Ability to travel on a regular basis for company business. * Demonstrated ability to build valued business relationships and to become a "trusted advisor" on technical and commercial issues.
