In this role, you will be responsible for the growth the Allison Transmission, Inc. (ATI) domestic and international military business. You will oversee business relationships with existing or potential Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) military tracked vehicle programs and their associated customers.
Lead business relationships and responsibilities with domestic and international military vehicle OEMs to improve business growth in this sector.
Work with assigned military vehicle OEMs to provide responses for requests for proposals, certifications, NAFTA documents and quotations.
Assist OEM or end user customers with information regarding logistics and product updates.
Evaluate and execute customer product purchase orders.
Generate written responses to US Government for OEM customer failures, quality deficiencies or schedule deficiency report requests.
Represent Defense Programs at military industry tradeshows and similar events. Provide input for development and implementation of the annual marketing strategy.
Represent Defense Programs as part of Allison Transmission's internal business functions or development programs as assigned such as Pre-Sales Council and new product release programs.
Support ATI distributors by responding to service related inquiries, providing quotations and executing purchase orders.
Develop the five-year business volume forecast to support the annual business process.
Execute other business activities such as Planning Charters to support the annual business planning process.
Gather marketing information, competitor information and global contracts associated with assigned OEMs and identify transmissions involved with domestic and international OEM customer tracked vehicle contracts.
Obtain and maintain high degree knowledge of ATI products used in military vehicle applications while collaborating with military engineering to address customer business and technical matters.
Develop and maintain knowledge and compliance with ATI policies, ATI procedures, departmental procedures, ITAR/EAR requirements and methods of conducting business with Government personnel.
Guide OEM customer procurement personnel on commercial off the shelf products when used in Defense vehicle applications.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:Required:
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a sales, manufacturing, or engineering role
Previous sales or customer support experience
Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills
Proven skill at generating clear, concise formal presentations for leadership
Proficient working with cross-functional business teams
Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills
High degree of integrity and business ethic
Current driver's license
Automotive vehicle, vehicle system, vehicle subsystem and integration experience
Experience with technical writing and communication with internal and external customers
Knowledge of ATI policies, ATI business procedures, ITAR/EAR requirements and proper methods of conducting business with Government personnel
General knowledge of U.S. military organizations, vehicles and operations
Demonstrated leadership skills
Experience with or knowledge of manufacturing distributor channels
