Position Summary
Brown Advisory seeks a resourceful and versatile professional to join the Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) team in a client service role supporting the firm's largest and most complex Endowment and Foundation clients. The ideal candidate is a self-assured individual with exceptional analytical, organizational, and time-management skills who enthusiastic about providing superior service to E&F clients and passionate about the opportunity to support mission-driven organizations.
The primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Collaborate with the OCIO team (Service, Portfolio Management, and Strategic Advisory) and other firm partners (Operations, Fund Administration, etc.) to provide comprehensive and superior service to our clients.
Build rapport with clients and ensure a prompt, accurate, and thorough response to all client requests and inquiries.
Maintain familiarity with client preferences, history, and stakeholders. Anticipate client needs and proactively search for solutions.
Handle communication with outside advisors such as accountants, auditors, etc., providing relevant tax, account, and investment information as needed.
Support the governance needs of E&F clients by providing administrative support for annual audits, preparation for board and finance committee meetings, and timely assistance to professional staff.
Execute cash management activities including initiating all types of money movement transactions, establishing standing instructions, and resolving issues as needed.
Manage all operational aspects of client onboarding including account opening, paperwork creation, account funding, asset transfers, and data collection.
Actively support client account maintenance activities including opening new accounts, address changes, online enrollment, investment KYC requests, etc.
Prepare documents for client signature including custodial forms, subscription and redemption documents, letters of authorization, and more.
Perform general administrative duties including electronic filing and organization of client documentation, contact data maintenance, fee billing support, portfolio accounting updates, etc.
Contribute to ad hoc client-related and team projects as needed.
Desired Qualifications
5-10 years of relevant experience in a client facing role
A bachelor's degree with a record of academic achievement
Mastery of the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Computer savvy and the ability to easily embrace and master new technology solutions
Intellectual curiosity, critical thinking skills, and an analytical approach to solving problems
Extraordinary attention to detail
Keen judgement and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to comfortably interact with client stakeholders in person and on the phone or by video
A genuine desire to help our clients and to always put their interests first
Flexibility and the willingness to adapt to new responsibilities in a rapidly growing division
