We are looking to hire a Ocean Export Supervisor to lead the Ocean Export department in all operational disciplines and ensure operational excellence, high productivity and customer satisfaction Responsibilities

  • Monitor timely responses to internal/external customers and other PANALPINA offices

  • Review of file processing with regards to:

  • application of proper weights, dimensions and rates

  • documentation, i.e., customer's requirements, consignee and/or destination requirements

  • Letter of Credit requirements (instruct Export Agent, if necessary)

  • Review of shipment processing with regards to:

  • use of direct or consolidation services

  • choice of routing

  • check file after Export Agent has completed the shipment

  • approve banking documents (L/C's, sight drafts, etc.)

  • check all other primary actions of the Export Agent in accordance with the individual's level of training

  • Prepare quotations and review customer profile, rate structures, routing alternatives, etc.

  • Support Sales Department with customer information, rates, etc.

  • Visit customers whenever required to improve communication

  • Assist department head in training and education of the department staff and supervise cross-training and assure adequate and timely training of the staff on hazardous materials regulations

  • Complete and update customer profiles

  • Review DGR documents to ensure compliance

  • Monitor vendors' compliance with service standards and requirements as per contract terms

  • Monitor proper filing and updating of all departmental records, i.e., tariffs, SOPs, etc.

  • Ensure proper filing of Pantainer tariffs

  • Assist department head on Shipping Run

  • Act as Department Manager during management absence



  • Excellent and thorough knowledge of Ocean Export environment and its regulations

Essential Job Functions: * Manage and control inventory levels to meet the needs of the territory while adhering to company days on hand and turn objectives. * Communicate policies and procedures to the sales team, direct reports, and customers to ensure understanding and impact on company compliance. * Ensure that scheduled surgeries are covered within the Hub's territory with fully functioning trays and biologics while communicating to the sales team of any inventory/logistical issues while using the company's resources as efficiently as possible. * Resolution of field representative, sales manager and/or customer concerns or complaints * Supervising the activities of a diverse group of individuals to ensure team goals are met. This could include additional locations other than the main hub * Manage Budget/Expenses/Variances within the Hub location. Skills: * Qualifications understanding of planning skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, thorough understanding of business and medical terminology and proficiency in office software applications are all required. * Demonstrate attention to detail. * Must be motivated, proactive, customer service oriented and have ability to work towards the common goal of the team. * Ability to lead and direct a team. * Extensive knowledge and skill in the Windows operating system, i.e., Microsoft Office Suite specifically Excel and Word * Proficient understanding of product allocation, surgery scheduling, order entry functions as well as potential impact on related departments and company profits. * Knowledge and skill with JD Edwards is preferred Education and Experience Requirements: * Associate's degree or equivalent work experience as defined below. * Minimum of one (1) year – three (3) years related experienced. * Minimum of one (1) year or more of inventory supervisor role. * Valid driver's license and good driving record * Required to pass annual driving abstract * Will be required to travel up to 20% of time to various company sites Wright Medical Group, Inc.
