The Operational Commercial Engines (OCE) Cold Section Engineer works very closely with field service representatives and airline customers to:

  • Coordinate service issue management and resolution with appropriate engineering and business partners.

  • Develop maintenance and retrofit plans that ensure safe, reliable and cost-effective engine operations.

  • Develop and implement industry support programs and fleet management strategies to resolve service challenges.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Preparation of technical communications to customers responding to their inquiries and/or advising them of new issues.

  • Initiate Engineering Authorizations (EA's) for engine/ module/ piece part inspections and limits for incorporation in technical manuals, service bulletins and the Maintenance Planning Guide.

  • Provide leadership and coordination of technical hardware investigations.

  • As an active participant in the engineering CIPT, identify and drive resolution of design and service issues and drive maintenance cost initiatives for assigned hardware.

  • Review of new or changed designs for impact on airline requirements.

  • Review and maintain hardware performance and reliability data/trends.

  • Develop presentations and participate in technical conferences and customer meetings.

  • Less than 10% travel

  • The final Grade/Level for this position will be based on Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this position, you should have the following experience:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Aerospace.
  • 2 or more years of experience with Engine test, design, manufacturing, overhaul and/or repair engineering
  • US Citizen due to government program requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a MRO environment.

  • General knowledge of gas turbine engines and experience with airline customers

  • Excellent Judgment and professional maturity

  • The ability to create positive relationships and craft clear communication

The Associate Engineer's responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: * Collaborate with the Program Office, Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPTs), regulatory authorities, field service reps, the Global Operations Center and Customer Service Managers to review and implement fleet management solutions for technical and logistics support of PW2000, PW4000 and PW6000 operators. * Develop and update engine manuals, service bulletins and engineering authorizations. * Publish and update technical data via engine manuals to maintain engines in-service. * Meet performance metrics for on-time delivery of technical cases thru the Eagle Net system for AOG and non-AOG events, field investigations, engine manual inquiries and tooling/equipment. * Support the planning and execution of comprehensive projects which provide specialized technical service and logistics support related to the introduction, maintenance, modification, operation, overhaul, repair or inspection of customer's in-service engines. * Support Aftermarket initiatives and cost savings programs for Commercial Engine Services FMPs. * Define configuration standards and logistics support requirements for customer's in-service equipment. * Review engine performance and reliability data and the effects of operating and design variables, and recommend changes as appropriate. * Support release of technical communications / Service Bulletins and other documents (Engineering Changes, Technical Data Packages).
