The starting faculty salary range for 2023-24 is $62,299 - $71,490 for a 1.0 FTE, 168-day schedule. The college is currently in negotiations for the Full-time faculty collective bargaining agreement. Following ratification of the agreement, the salary schedule for the 2024/2025 academic year may be adjusted. New faculty will be contracted for 168-day contract plus additional 3 days to attend Fall Term Instructional Strategies Institute training. LBCC offers a comprehensive benefit package.

This position is subject to Article 31 of the Faculty Association Collective Bargaining Agreement. Position Title: Occupational Therapy Assistant Program Faculty/Academic Fieldwork Coordinator Employment Requirement Not Applicable Division/Department: Occupational Therapy Assistant Location Healthcare Occupations Center, Lebanon, OR Job Summary:

The faculty member is expected to fully engage as a teacher and faculty member in the fulfillment of the college's mission. This includes serving as Academic Fieldwork Coordinator, teaching classes in the Occupational Therapy Assistant department, advising students, developing and reviewing curricula and classes to promote student learning, serving on campus and departmental committees and task forces, fostering partnerships with community, employers, and educational organizations, and engaging in continued professional development. The faculty member is responsible for assisting the program director with the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Occupational Assistant program.

Required Qualifications:

Initially certified Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant, currently licensed to practice in Oregon. Experience with supervision of Fieldwork Level II students. Experience with the design and delivery of adult education programming preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, experience in the field of occupational therapy equivalent to 2 years full-time. Experience with distance learning practices.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Work is performed in an office or classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards. May require arm, hand, and finger dexterity to operate a keyboard or other office equipment. Requires sufficient visual acuity to recognize alphanumeric characters. Requires good hearing and well-developed speaking ability to communicate with staff and students. Work is performed indoors with minimal exposure to safety and health hazards. Considerable time is spent doing work on a computer.

Essential Duties:

  • Serve as the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator, who is specifically responsible for the program's compliance with the fieldwork requirements of Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) Standard C. Train and work collaboratively with program assistants and department colleagues to create, improve, and maintain fieldwork placement procedures and policies.

  • Assist the program director with the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy Assistant program in accordance with accreditation standards and requirements of the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).

  • Assist the program director with research and development of an approved curriculum.

  • Plan, develop, and present organized learning opportunities for students in accordance with approved course outlines on topics relating to Occupational Therapy Assistant.

  • Assess student learning at the course and program level, and work to improve/refine the curricula based on results. Assist in choosing and integrating texts, material, equipment, and media to be used in learning. Share new curricular materials cooperatively with other department members.

  • Create an equitable learning environment while adhering to the college's value of inclusivity; embracing the uniqueness of every individual and promoting the free and civil expression of ideas, perspectives, and cultures. Ensure and promote an equitable learning environment in fieldwork experiences for students.

  • Work respectfully and productively with a diverse student and staff population, including different cultures, learning styles, skill levels, socioeconomic backgrounds, races, ethnicities, genders, ages, and other demographic indicators.

  • Assume academic advising responsibilities. Develop and maintain an understanding of college processes, curricula, and technology to be an effective advisor.

  • Participate in the recruitment and retention of students. Participate with OTA Program faculty in related learning activities for students on and off campus as appropriate.

  • Participate in college and departmental committees, task forces, and groups as assigned with a willingness to take on a leadership role as chair in the future.

  • Maintain current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continued professional development.

  • Abide by the current code of ethics of the profession of occupational therapy.
