What You Will Do:
Under the direction of the Director, provides occupational therapy services to patients following the plan of care established by an Occupational Therapist.
Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, provides occupational therapy services, re-assessing the patient's status on each visit, and ensuring quality of care as evidenced in the clinical record.
Accurately administers standardized tests, treatment procedures and modalities as assigned by therapists. Implements the plan of care developed by the Occupational Therapist.
Assists therapists in the development or modification of goals and objectives of patient care based upon assessment data.
Implements appropriate treatment strategies, procedures, and modalities according to the plan of care set forth for each patient.
Communicates patient progress, status, and response to therapy services to the supervising therapist, patient and/or family, and members of the interdisciplinary team.
Provides for a safe, adequate and comfortable environment for the delivery of therapy services.
Demonstrates the ability to serve patients of all ages in the routine performance of duties
What You Will Need:
Graduate of an approved Associate Degree program as a COTA. Currently licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio.
One to two years experience in a hospital or rehabilitation facility preferred.
Current CPR certification.
Current FOM (Functional Outcome Measures) certification preferred.
Demonstrated ability to keep abreast of new research and practices in the field so as to provide the patients with the best possible care and treatment.
Ability to read and write and effectively communicate and understand in both written and oral form.
Ability to lift patients as necessary and be mobile.
Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and be insurable under Firelands' auto policy. Employee must provide proof of personal automobile liability insurance coverage upon request.
