Summary:

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, provides patient treatment and therapy by following an established plan of care directed and supervised by an OTR/L. Responsible for mentoring Assistants, Technicians, and Students.

Collaborates with other healthcare team members and physicians in a multi-disciplinary fashion to deliver the highest quality of care. Participates in CQI activities. Facilitates the provision of excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Associate Degree from an Accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

• None

LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION

• Current NC Board of Occupational Therapy license. Occupational Therapist Assistant license or eligible.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

• Analytical abilities to delegate personnel, problem solve with positive solutions. Good interpersonal and communication skills required to facilitate interactions with stated customers and staff members.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, temperature changes and occasional noxious odors. Stressful work periods occasionally encountered.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT

• Standing for most of the day lifting/assisting patients with transfers, bed mobility and ambulation as well as their exercise programs.
