Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY: The Occupational Therapy Assistant will primarily provide outpatient rehabilitation services in an in-home setting for the older adult population. The in-home setting could be a patient's private residence or in a patient's room in a SNF/NF, in an assisted living facility, or in an independent living facility. Vitality to You allows the Occupational Therapy Assistant to treat in the most functional environment which is the patient's home. The Occupational Therapy Assistant implements occupational therapy programs and provides occupational therapy treatments to patients to facilitate increased independence and functioning, under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1.Attends and contributes to patient care, staffing conferences and other required meetings as a representative of occupational therapy, under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
2.Responsible for adherence to department and patient treatment schedule, timely clinical and billing documentation requirements as well as work related meetings.
3.Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.
4.Instructs patients, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
5.Maintains appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated.
6.Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary.
7.Puts Patient Service First: Ensures that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights.
8.Implements patient's individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Occupational Therapist.
9.Provides individualized occupational therapy interventions including application of therapeutic techniques in such areas as, but not limited to:

QUALIFICATIONS:

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:1. Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program according to AOTA & ACOTE standards.2. Initial certification obtained from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.3. He/she must be licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required in the state of practice.4. He/she must have CPR certification per GRS standards.5. He/she must have a valid driver's license.

Key Accountabilities Key Accountabilities Office Management * Maintains knowledge and understanding of the broad range of issues under the purview of the Dean and Chaplain in order to provide information and assistance to a wide range of constituencies, including faculty, staff, students, the College community, and external parties. * Plans, manages and coordinates administrative functions of the department in collaboration with the Dean/Chaplain. * Coordinates the Dean's schedule and attends meetings as needed or directed. * Provides administrative assistance and support for programs and projects overseen by the Dean/Chaplain and manages meetings and special projects as requested. * Provides administrative interface with and support for the United Campus Ministers including application processes, minute taking, preparations for and attendance of monthly meetings, UCM events, oversight of religious preference lists, computer and email access. * Prepares correspondence, reports, records, and publishes meeting minutes, memoranda, and related materials for the Dean/Chaplain. * Helps develop and implement office systems and administrative policies; explains Division and College policies to students and UCM members, as needed. * Oversight and facilitation of all public relations materials in collaboration with staff, student directors and assistants (including campus listserves, social media, posters, brochures, bulletin boards). * Oversight, update and facilitation of the Tucker Center website. * Administrative oversight and coordination of Tucker internship and fellowship processes, from application through conclusion. * Contributes to and attends staff meeting and maintains action lists. * Oversees the general use and maintenance of the space occupied by the Tucker Center at South Fairbanks as well as consistent knowledge of maintenance needs and support of sacred spaces in North Fairbanks, Rollins, and Roth Center. * Regular updating of Rollins calendar, sign outside Rollins, bulletin boards within Rollins and South Fairbanks. * Oversees the records management function at Tucker. Budget and Financial Administration * Verifies monthly transactions, researches questions and is the Tucker Center's liaison to the Finance Center. * Works with the Finance Center to initiate and process financial transactions and reports as needed. Prepares business travel expense entries or reimbursement requests. Prepares other financial material or forms as needed. * Monitors, maintains records and produces reports on status of approved budgets. Alerts Dean/Chaplain to potential problems in budget administration. * Compiles information for use in budget preparation. * Manages use and processing of transactions for Hillel and Tucker purchasing cards and corporate cards. * Maintains all financial records for the Center. Personnel Administration * In conjunction with Tucker staff, manages the student hiring process, including employee orientation. * Establishes and manages payroll and timekeeping records. * Supervises student interns, student office assistants, as needed. * Serves as the Center's primary contact with Student Employment Office and the Payroll Office for process and policy matters. Provides training to staff and students as needed. * Supports the Dean by coordinating logistics of professional staff hiring processes. Stewardship Support * Provides support to the Dean/Chaplain for stewardship activities. Ensures that funds are being used in accordance with donor's intentions and college policies. * Processes incoming gifts and gift acknowledgments. * Manages Tucker Center Friends and Al-Nur Friends appeals. * Manages annual endowment stewardship report mailing. Tucker Board of Advisors * Coordinates the administrative aspects of the Board's activities. * Compiles, edits, organizes communications on agenda items. * Arranges and provides support for meetings; coordinates all logistics and set-up. * Attends meetings, publishes minutes, and follows-up on commitments made at meetings.
