We are seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant with experience in Acute Care to:

  • Provide rehabilitative treatment interventions to complex patients admitted to the acute hospital

  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to carry out comprehensive evidence based treatment plans to maximize functional outcomes and discharge plans

  • Work within the context of patient- and family- centered care in a primary and specialty care academic medical center

  • Seek continual learning opportunities to advance one's own practice and educate others

  • Willing to take on additional responsibilities for program development and process improvement

Education:

Minimum

  • Associate's degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant

Work Experience:

Preferred

  • Professional experience as a Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant.

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum State of Wisconsin licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant required.

Certification in Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automatic External Defibrillator required within 3 months of hire.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with a variety of equipment, including computer software, is required.

  • Organization, time management, flexibility, and positive attitude are crucial to successful performance.

Physical Requirements:

Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule:
100% FTE, 40 hours per week. Sunday Thursday 8:00 am 4:30 pm. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department and flexibility with work schedules is essential.
