Occupational Therapist

EMIT Learning is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team in Brentwood, CA for the remaining school year of 2024-2025. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse populations, including geriatrics and individuals with autism.

This role involves providing therapeutic services to help patients improve their ability to perform daily activities (ADLs) and enhance their overall quality of life. The Occupational Therapist will work in various settings, including inpatient facilities, clinics, and schools. Job Description:

ASAP End Date: June, 2025 Working Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week Responsibilities Assess patients' needs and develop individualized treatment plans based on their specific goals and challenges. Implement therapeutic interventions to improve patients' physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including speech therapists and medical staff, to provide comprehensive care. Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, progress, and strategies for continued improvement. Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.

Utilize knowledge of medical terminology and occupational health practices in patient assessments and documentation. Provide support for patients with varying conditions, including those requiring speech therapy or assistance with ADLs. Requirements A degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

Valid state licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist. Experience in inpatient settings or working with geriatric populations is preferred. Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders and strategies for effective care is a plus.

Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy practices. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment while maintaining a patient-centered focus.
