Occupational Therapist PRN

Job Description Job Description Role Responsibilities The Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR)-PRN works to ensure the identification and accommodation of eligible children (birth to 36 months old). The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluation and/or treatment programming for infants and toddlers who live in the catchment area of the program, which includes Fort Bend and Waller Counties. The OTR treatment for enrolled children is recommended by the interdisciplinary team and may include complex treatment procedures, documenting patient progress in chart, oral motor, motor/reflex development, positioning, sensory, assistive technology devices/service and conferring regularly with their ECI Team members.

The OTR supervises assigned Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) as needed, according to the Texas Occupational Therapist Act and Rules requirements. The position works under the direction of ECI Program Managers. Working hours will vary Monday-Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm under 10 to 20 hours per week.

Adjusted time to meet the needs of families and the program may be required, as needed. Salary $42.00 per hour Required Education and/or Certifications, Experience, Skills Occupational Therapist, Registered license from the Texas State Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners Texas Driver License Knowledge of infant/child development Knowledge of early intervention techniques Knowledge of community resources Knowledge of assessment techniques Interpersonal skills for positive interaction with individuals Ability to work independently Ability to communicate both orally & in writing Ability to exercise sound judgment in applying departmental policy & procedure Ability to use/interpret standardized testing instruments Texas Driver's License Current license as Occupational Therapist, Registered Preferred Education and/or Certifications, Experience, Skills Bilingual and Pediatrics experience Previous work experience in Pediatric Therapy Job Related Physical Requirements Ability to perform CPR Kneeling Pushing Light lifting (15 lbs) Climbing stairs Operating mechanical equipment Light carrying (15 lbs) Pulling hand over hand Operating a motor vehicle Ability to see Reaching over shoulder Simple Grasping Hearing (with or without aid) Walking Standing Ability to write Sitting Twisting Texana Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer
