Responsibilities

The Occupational Therapist / OTR will be primarily responsible for:

  • Direct client care

  • Planning and implementing specific treatment programs in an age appropriate manner for individual clients

  • Being involved in the further development of therapy services

  • Being flexible to meet the needs of the system

Qualifications

The Occupational Therapist / OTR must:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of occupational therapy

  • Be licensed or eligible for licensure by the Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners for the state in which the facility resides

  • Have current CPR certification and maintain same

Job Summary: * Assesses patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develops a plan of care based on diagnosis. * Implements and monitors patient care plan and equipment. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition. Performs advanced respiratory care modalities. * Evaluates respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome. * Educates the patient and family about the health condition and provides information about community support groups and other available programs. * Responds to emergency resuscitation team code. * You will do all of this while contributing to mission effectiveness by promoting the spirit embodied with the Mission Statement: Service to the poor - Support the cause of those who lack resources for a reasonable quality of life.
