Every Child Achieves (ECA) has rewarding part time / full time employment opportunities for Home-Based Early Intervention Occupational Therapist, OTR/L. We would prefer for our desirable candidates to bring previous experience working with the birth to three populations in the natural environment. Even though our program offers clinical support through our e-learning library, we find our positions are designed for more experienced and independent clinicians that thrive in this type of environment.

Every Child Achieves finds the key strategy in helping you optimize clinical outcomes is through continuity of care and commitment. Therefore, all of our positions are:

  • W2-Employee Permanent Positions

  • Full Time positions require a minimum caseload of 25-30 treatment hours scheduled per week (with a minimum 20 -25 treatment hours delivered)

  • Part Time positions require a minimum caseload of 15-20 treatment hours scheduled per week (with a minimum of 15 treatment hours delivered)

  • Coverage areas assigned are usually within a 10 to 20 mile radius depending on the regional area.

  • 18 Month Commitment - We are seeking candidates that are able to commit to a minimum of 18 months for continuity of care for their caseloads.

How will you be compensated? You will be reimbursed for your billable treatment, drive time between your consumers at an administrative rate, documentation time, and clinical collaboration time which results in a "global billable hour." Our compensation range is based on regional area reimbursement and your previous EI experience. The range of compensation is between $55 to $75 per global billable equivalency. Please note the higher compensation is usually tied to Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, East Los Angeles, South Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley. These regional areas require candidates to have a minimum of 2 to 5 years' experience in Early Intervention. Through our Head Start and Early Head Start programs, we work with children (ages 2 – 5) and their families to provide the skills, confidence and stable home life necessary for a smooth transition into kindergarten and beyond. Head Start positions are generally Monday through Friday, 7:45 am to 4:15 pm (10-1/2 months per year). Responsibilities: The Program Assistant – Health provides administrative support for implementation of a health services programs for families and children. This position provides collaborative planning in conjunction with other support groups and agencies in meeting needs of families. With guidance and technical support from the Family Service Specialist, the Program Assistant – Health will: * Participate in health education for parents; acquaint parents with the purpose and need for complete physical and dental exams for their children * Obtain medical, dental and developmental histories for each child; obtain parental consent forms as needed * Assist in health screening and medical/dental exams * Makes home visits to advise families in health matters * May provide families with emergency assistance and/or crisis intervention * Assist in preparation and update of the health service plan * Assist in first aid and CPR training for staff Requirements: * Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program * At least 1 year of experience as a medical assistant preferred * Must have excellent computer skills including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel * Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing * Must have valid California driver's license and access to dependable automobile with adequate insurance in order to make home visits and/or to travel to different school and office sites * Fingerprint clearance required prior to employment Health Requirements: * Proof at the time of hire * TB clearance within 6 months prior * Annual Influenza vaccination (between Aug 1 – Dec 1) * Pertussis (whooping cough) and measles immunization * Physical examination at the time of employment * Requires ability to interact with children in a busy environment including, but not limited to: * Able to lift up to 50 lbs * Frequently kneel and squat * Ability to move quickly Additional Requirements: * Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and oral) desirable * First aid and CPR certification desirable Volunteers of America is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
