Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist provides outpatient rehabilitation services for older adults in their homes or independent living facilities. This role involves evaluating and treating patients in their functional environments, organizing therapy programs, and directing patient activities to enhance performance and adaptability.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel.
2. Adhere to treatment schedules, documentation requirements, and attend work-related meetings.
3. Participate in patient care conferences and make interdisciplinary referrals.
4. Consult with rehabilitation team members to select appropriate therapeutic regimens.
5. Adapt therapy programs based on patient needs.
6. Promote a safe environment and eliminate hazards.
7. Order and maintain supplies and equipment.
8. Ensure high-quality, compassionate patient service.
9. Screen, evaluate, and diagnose patients; develop and implement treatment plans.
10. Apply therapeutic techniques to improve cognitive skills, strength, coordination, mobility, ADLs, and more.
11. Design and train patients in using adaptive devices.
12. Instruct patients in functional activities and evaluate their progress.
13. Perform reexaminations to adjust treatment plans as needed.
14. Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements:

• Valid Occupational Therapy license in the state(s) of practice.
• Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation.
