Position: Occupational Therapist

Date Position Available: 2024-2025 School Year

Qualifications: State of Maine Occupational Therapist License and current CHRC authorization through the State of Maine Department of Education.

Description: MSAD #11 is looking to hire an Occupational Therapist to work District-wide.

The successful candidate will provide Occupational Therapist services and case management for students with Individual Education Plans as well as consult with general and special education teachers. Assistive technology and experience working within the Public-School environment is preferred.

Additional Responsibilities include: Receive referrals and process them according to MSAD 11 policy and school district practices; provide Occupational Therapy services to identified students according to federal and Maine Laws and regulations including assessment, therapy and evaluation of student progress; maintain records and appropriate documentation for student performance and progress toward individual goals; conduct pre-screenings and assessments of students at-large according to MSAD 11 policy and practice; participate actively in Individual Education Plan (IEP) teams considering Special student needs; maintain professional skills including knowledge of emerging ideas and approaches; consult with teachers on design, implementation, and monitoring of in-class modifications; provide training to district staff within the areas of professional expertise; assist principal and school staff as requested to achieve school-wide goals; and respect established schedules with as few changes as possible.
