Position Summary:
The Occupational Therapist assesses, formulates goals, plans interventions and evaluates effectiveness of treatment related to the development of adaptive skills and performance capacities of individuals of all ages who have physical disabilities and related psychological impairments. The Occupational Therapist provides or superintends the provision of ADL training, exercise and other procedures to maximize a patient's functional independence, prevent further disability and maintain health.
He/she performs all functions in an ethical and professional manner to infants, children, adolescents and adults of all ages, including geriatrics. He/she demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on appropriate physical, psychosocial, education safety and related criteria.
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Occupational Therapy.
Must have a BS or certificate in Occupational Therapy.
Must maintain current State licensure from the Board of Medicine.
Experience: Job requires at least six (6) months of experience. Hospital experience strongly preferred.
Special Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
