Duties:• Provide quality occupational therapy services in a variety of practice settings including outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital. • Evaluate, assess, develop and implement appropriate treatment plans for patients of all ages with varying diagnosis. • Submit all documentation the same day services are provided. Ensures these documents are written appropriately, filed, and sent to appropriate providers/agencies for review. • Responsible for all care delivered under his/her supervision (students, interns, techs, other support staff). • Educates patients, parents, family, and caregivers about condition/disorder, prognosis, goals and rehab management. • Collaborates with referring providers and multi-disciplinary team regarding patient care and initiates contact with appropriate individuals, allied professionals, and administrative personnel. • Explains, demonstrates and interprets the role and function of occupational therapy. • Evaluates, charts, and reports patient's progress throughout the planned therapy program. • Formulates a complete evaluation of the impact of disorders and demonstrates how activities of daily living, work, household responsibilities, and self-care are affected. • Addresses pain control, restoration of function, activities of daily living, mobility limitations, fitness and strength, balance and coordination, cognitive function, adaptive equipment, etc. • Provides appropriate written and verbal instruction of independent management program for patient to utilize at home. • Maintains confidentiality at all times, including information relating to patient care, providers, staff/employees, families, department contracts and hospital matters. • Must comply with all SMH standards including established policies, procedures, Standard of Care, fire safety, housing regulations, etc.
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications: • Master's Degree (or higher) in Occupational Therapy. • Must have a valid United States license to practice. • Must have valid CPR Certification. • Must be able to successfully pass the Employee Health Program requirements and background investigation.
