Provides occupational therapy services to patients ranging in age who may have physical, medical and/or psychological disorders and who are receiving services on an inpatient basis. Therapists are responsible for evaluating patient needs, establishing treatment plans and providing treatments/services accordingly. In collaboration with the COTA, works with patients on an individual basis using current technology treatment techniques and modalities consistent with department and hospital policies. Responsible for developing and facilitating specialized treatment programs as appropriate to meet patient needs. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Supports and demonstrates Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients and their families and with co-workers.
Prior experience must provide clear evidence of clinical skills beyond basic entry level for the position in which the applicant is applying for.
Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
Certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy required within six months of hire.
Registered through the State of Minnesota as a Licensed Occupational Therapist or a temporary Occupational Therapist permit required with Occupational Therapist license obtained within 90 days of hire.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required per established policy.
