This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) full-time position working 8 hours per day, 11 months per year Monday - Friday. Essential Duties: Assess students' abilities and performance in activities that are related to the curriculum and applicable to activities of daily living; identify and document student abilities and educational, developmental and functional needs with Individualized Educational Plan team; develop, coordinate and implement individual occupational therapy intervention plans that support the IEP goals and objectives with the IEP team; assist with the development of student transition plans, programs and goals; documents findings; actions taken, recommendations made regarding areas of service and maintain records as required by law, Board policy, administrative regulations and the department; schedule, plan and administer occupational therapy programs for students with physical limitation, orthopedic impairments and/or problems for the purpose of aiding their physical rehabilitation; and other duties as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited school of occupational therapy and experience with pediatrics and sensory motor evaluation and training or such alternatives that the Personnel Commission may find desirable. Must possess a valid registration by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy or the American Occupational Therapy Association, a valid Class C California Driver License, and a automobile to be used in the course of work that meets the current legal requirements for vehicle operation in the State of California, including proof of insurance. A DMV driving report is required prior to employment.

Physical Ability: Able to lift objects weighing up 80 pounds using safe and proper methods and/or equipment; move objects weighing over 80 pounds using safe and proper methods and/or equipment; ability to sit at a desk for extended periods of time; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels, and to hear and understand speech on the telephone with or without hearing aids; eyesight, corrected or uncorrected, sufficient to read fine print; manual dexterity to carry out the essential functions of the position; ability to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly; ability to bend, reach, pull and walk.
