Occupational Therapist .5 to Full time FTE Begins August 1, 2024 Located on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula, Chartwell School is looking for an Occupational Therapist to begin on August 1, 2024. Working in a warm, collegial, and consensus-building manner with faculty, students, parents, alumni, staff, and other members of the Chartwell community, the Occupational Therapist will facilitate reduction, remediation, or elimination of motor difficulties which interfere with a student's ability to fully benefit from Chartwell's specialized, research-based educational program.

Primary Responsibilities: • Evaluates students using standardized assessments to determine eligibility for occupational therapy. • Evaluates fine motor tasks, sensory impairments, and perceptual motor skills to make recommendations to teachers regarding methods and information to improve functional skills in the classroom. • Reviews reports from health care providers requesting occupational therapy. • Provides individual and group occupational therapy services to students. • Collaborates with team members to identify educational methods, needs, and services for students for prevention and intervention strategies. • Develops and re-evaluates students' individual occupational therapy plans on a regular basis. • Writes goals and reports on progress for students' Chartwell Education Plans in addition to writing individual reports. • Attends IEP meetings as necessary, maintains progress notes on student records,and reports on progress. • Attends Chartwell faculty meetings and conferences. • Collaborates with parents regarding plans for occupational therapy services. • Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • A valid Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy. • A valid certification or registration issued by the American Occupational Therapy Association. • Two years prior related experience in occupations with children.
