Positions Supervised: None
Work Schedule: 190-day contract with additional contract days possible. Hours typically 7:30-4:00 with a 30-min lunch and two 15-min breaks. Daily schedule may vary depending on the needs of the district.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Occupational/Physical Therapist leads the process in the development, implementation and coordination of the Occupational/Physical Therapy program. Screening, evaluation, educational programming and transitional planning, therapeutic intervention, and exit planning are provided for students identified with or suspected of having disabilities that interfere with their ability to perform daily life activities or participate in necessary or desired occupations. Professional judgment and clinical knowledge are used to develop individualized programming based on occupational performance deficits in areas of personal care, student role, interaction skills, process skills, play, community integration/work, and graphic communication.

c. Completes standardized testing and skilled observations.
d. Synthesizes evaluation results into a comprehensive report which reflects strengths and barriers in the education environment.
e. Develops intervention plans based on student needs and evaluation results.
f. Participates in multi-disciplinary meetings to review evaluation results and develop IEP plans to achieve listed goals.

c. Adapts and modifies environment.
d. Educates student, educational personnel, and family.
e. Monitors and reassesses the effects of intervention.
f. Documents services to ensure accountability.
a. Prioritizes and schedules work tasks independently.
b. Manages inventory of therapeutic equipment and assessments.
c. Develops list of project needs for budget planning.
d. Maintains clinical and administrative records in accordance with professional standards, state guidelines, and district policy.
e. Provides legal and ethical supervision of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and Physical Therapy Assistants.
f. Reviews Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy services for quality improvement and makes changes as needed.
a. Teaches, monitors, and collaborates with educational personnel, community agencies, parents, and students.
b. Provides continuing education and inservices for educational personnel, parents and community-based service providers.
c. Coordinates fieldwork education and supervision for Occupational Therapy Assistants and Physical Therapy Assistants.
a. Participates in continuing education for professional development to ensure best evidence-based practice and meet Arkansas State Board and National Board of Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy certification requirements.
b. Uses professional literature, evidence-based research, and continuing education content to make practice decisions.
a. Uses professional standards of practice to guide decision-making.
Report to the proper authorities any cases of suspected child endangerment, neglect, or abuse.
Report suspected bullying to building principal or designee as required by Arkansas law and district policies.
Adhere to all District policies.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Administrator, Special Education Director, or Assistant Special Education Director.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy
Master's Degree Preferred, Field of Study: Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy
Experience: Experience as a school occupational/physical therapist preferred.
Computer Skills: Shall be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of proficiency with computers and programs associated with the position.
Certifications &
Licenses: Current Arkansas licensure or certification as appropriate for the position.
Other Requirements:
