JOB SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assesses, plans and implements treatment programs for patients according to established principles and practices of Occupational Therapy.

MACHINES OR EQUIPMENT OPERATED: Small tools, sewing machine, hydrocollator, electric drill, hammer, scissors, wire cutter, pliers, hole puncher, heat gun, electric knife.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Graduate of an approved program for Occupational Therapy. Qualified by education, training or experience to work with the neonate, infant, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patients as specialty assignment dictates.
EXPERIENCE: Experience in occupational therapy as obtained through completion of an approved Occupational Therapy program.
An ability and willingness to apply knowledge and skills and maintain clinical competency as required in a rehabilitation department. Demonstrates skill in the use of applicable equipment; mature judgment and initiative required; is able to work without direct supervision; shows professional interest through self-development, continuing education, and involvement in professional organizations; presents a positive attitude and professional appearance. Ability to give and follow written and oral instructions; ability to communicate effectively with others; ability to effectively record and reflect observations and progress; ability to plan and organize work for self and others; ability to exercise analytical judgment on work to be done.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION: Licensed to work in state of TN an Occupational Therapist. Current CPR/BLS certification.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequent standing and walking; exposure to infectious agents; lifting and positioning of patients, supplies and equipment. Heavy Work - Exerting up to 150 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 30 pounds of force constantly to move objects. (May be further defined as "with assistance" or "without assistance").
