The Occupational Safety Administrator reports to the Manager of Ground Safety and Emergency
Response and is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Mesa Airlines, Inc. Worker's Compensation Program and OSHA programs. This includes Employee Injuries and Hearing Conservation Programs, assists in identifying trends in OSHA Compliance as well as provides support on related workers' compensation and risk assessment projects, including management and oversight of claims. As well as assisting the Manager of Ground Safety and Emergency Response and VP of Safety and Security to maintain oversight of the company's Safety Programs.
Perform evaluations as per schedule and special directions from the Vice President of Safety and Security, collect evidence, identify concerns, prepare reports, and monitor corrective action plans.
Assists the Manager of Ground Safety and Emergency Response to increase safety by identifying and reducing hazards within all operations. This is accomplished by:
Identifying actual and/or potential hazards
Applying mitigating actions to reduce/eliminate actual and/or potential hazards
Monitoring mitigating actions to determine impact and effectiveness
Facilitating management-level meetings on a routine basis and on short notice as necessary.
Briefing Senior Management & Code-Share partners on the status of the following programs:
Hearing Conservation Plan
Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA)
Workers Compensation
Employee Injuries
Tracks and trends data as they pertain to employee injuries
Tracks and analyzes submitted employee injury reports and maintains all injury reports, investigations and OSHA-required housekeeping, including OSHA 300, 301, and 300A forms.
Maintains records pertaining to the Hearing Conservation Plan.
Assists in Safety Committee Meetings
May represent Mesa Airlines at codeshare partners' meetings.
May attend internal safety meetings on behalf of the Manager of Ground Safety and Emergency Response
Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager of Ground Safety and Emergency Response and/or the VP of Safety and Security
