Occupational Health Nurse

As the Occupational Health Nurse, your primary responsibility will be providing comprehensive health and wellness services to the employees of the plant in alignment with established Mid-West Forge Values and Guiding Principles.

You will play a key role in collaborating with other team members to provide site health and safety needs for the plant. You will support site assessment audits, site risk analysis and occupational health management plan to support the health services. In addition, you will own delivering comprehensive nursing care including: prompt medical emergency response, prevention, treatment and follow-up for occupational injuries/illnesses, referrals and medications.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Administer post injury first aid and maintain follow up care.

  • Conduct return to work assessments and fitness for duty evaluations.

  • Conduct new hire post-offer health questionnaire review, physicals, drug testing, and medical clearance.

  • Develop, interpret and administer medical testing programs such as Hearing Tests.

  • Ensure compliance with health aspects and medical testing requirements of TSCA, SARA, OSHA, NIOSH, P&G Medical, and Industrial Health & Safety standards

  • Attain/maintain current knowledge of the site risks/hazards including chemical, biological and physical and participate in reviews and overall risk assessments

  • Provide Health Coaching that optimizes the employee's health and well-being by conducting screening tests, counseling, and follow-up.

  • Coordinate the work with HR and be part of the overall HR team.

  • Proactively work on a safe and healthy living culture, enable people's health and productivity, and build systemic processes that drive overall morale and culture.

Qualifications, if you're a good fit, you'll have:

  • A passion and talent for promoting, maintaining and restoring the physical and psycho-social well-being of the employee to improve their optimal performance

  • Associate Nursing Degree or higher

  • Must have unencumbered nursing license and current Ohio nursing license

  • COHN or COHN-S NIOSH approved Spirometry and CAOHC approved Audiometry

  • Adult CPR/AED

  • Knowledge of State and Federal Laws and Regulations

  • Experience with conducting training on various health, wellness and safety topics.

  • Ability to attend meetings, trainings and conferences that may require travel.

  • Must be able to flow to the work and be flexible to meet the needs of the business with occasional work off shifts.

ID: 18868 PURPOSE: The Manager, Occupational Health will serve as a hands-on leader, providing support for US10 (Euclid/Mentor) or Corporate functions. JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES): * Responsible for all medical operations Euclid/Mentor * Manage budget, staff, supplies/equipment, customer service issues * Establish and oversee medical protocols * Manage return-to-work (RTW) activities * Oversee all medical surveillance activities (requires detailed knowledge of toxicology/exposure criteria/occupational disease) * Provide medical care to employees * Manage walk in and scheduled appointments * Medical support nationwide, as appropriate * Oversee optical clinic for safety glasses * Oversee travel clinic for vaccines * Serves on Wellness Committee * On-site Administrator of electronic medical record (EMR), monitoring all EMR functions * Troubleshoot all aspects of EMR, software and train staff * Interface with vendor and in-house IT staff to troubleshoot issues as necessary * Perform audits to insure compliance with all laws, regulations and standards to assure completeness of documentation and storage/recordkeeping * OSHA recordkeeping responsibility, in conjunction with business partners, requiring up-to-date knowledge of laws and changes * Continuous communication with all stakeholders on Occupational Health issues * Work with Corporate EHS, ES&C and ISO 45001 compliance programs * Expert on-site resource for managers/leaders re: any medical issues with employees * Assist in problem solving with leaders/managers/supervisors * Supervision of the Emergency Response Supervisor role, in conjunction with support from ES&C and Security BASIC REQUIREMENTS: * RN, licensed in Ohio * BSN or RN with related Bachelor's degree; Masters' degree desirable * 5-7 years Occupational Health experience; 2-3 years OCC health management experience * Certified Occupational Health Nurse-Specialist (COHN-S) preferred * Certification in audiometric testing, pulmonary function testing, fit testing, phlebotomy * Basic Life Support (BLS) certified * Strong communication & organizational skills * Computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite * Experience with Electronic Medical Records, preferably occupational medicine based * OSHA, FMLA, ADA & Ohio BWC experience Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to their race, color, religion, national origin, sex, protected veteran status or disability.
