VCU Health System's Rehab Med OT is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapy Assistant to assist the Occupational Therapist in evaluating referred adolescent, adult and geriatric in-patients. To implement a patient's treatment program after the program is planned by the Occupational Therapist.

To document results of patient care sessions in accordance with hospital and department guidelines. To participate as a member of a departmental team as well as a member of an interdisciplinary patient care team. To provide clinical instruction to OTA students. To participate in training and education activities.


Evaluation and treatment of patients with routine diagnoses. Setting schedule and managing time.

Communicating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Adjustment of treatment program based on patient response. Completion of routine documentation. Customer interaction.

Occupational Therapist Assistant provides supervision for Rehab Technicians, volunteers and students doing clinical rotations.

Cross-coverage to all rehab/acute treatment teams.

Saturday/holiday coverage on a rotating basis.

Age Specific groups served: Adolescence, Adult, Geriatric



Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant Program (Associates Degree)

Licensed (or licensure eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as an Occupational Therapist Assistant

Minimum of 1 year of work experience as an Occupational Therapist Assistant


Current CPR Certification if required by clinic or practice area
