As Santa Cruz County's heart attack (STEMI) receiving center, Dominican Hospital provides cutting edge cardiac care. The hospital's heart attack treatment times consistently beat the national average, and the hospital offers two cardiac catheterization labs available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Groundbreaking cardiac procedures at Dominican include the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedure, which allows for heart valve replacement without opening a patient's chest.

Dominican Hospital has forged significant partnerships with area hospitals to bring exceptional care to Santa Cruz County. The hospital offers a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) through a partnership with Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford. Neurosurgery at Dominican is also offered through a partnership with Stanford Health Care.

Community programs include a Mobile Wellness Clinic, a tattoo removal program, and support groups for patients and new mothers. In addition, and in accordance with our mission, Dominican Hospital supports programs for the underserved in our community, including children and adults, students, seniors, and the homeless population. ResponsibilitiesThe Obstetrical Technician/UC is responsible for supporting Registered Nurses and Providers in the MCH unit with patient care, clerical duties and other unit operations deemed as necessary. They will function as an OB tech by assisting with cesarean section, vaginal deliveries, and other procedures.

They must communicate effectively with patient care team members. Participates in the orientation of new employees and works with other members of the care team. Accountable for assigned duties in a manner that meets standards.

Works in a collaborative manner with patient care team members and supports the roles of all coworkers. QualificationsExperience Required:

  • 1 year experience as a Scrub Tech
  • 1 year experience as CNA, EMT, OB Tech, or OB Unit Clerk (preferred)

Special Skills Required:

  • Good working knowledge of patient care

  • Good working knowledge of medical terminology

Licensure Required:

  • Current BLS Certificate CT CPRBLS

Responsibilities This position maintains supplies and equipment and provides assistance with the care of patients in the Emergency Department setting. Provides coordination of the nursing station by supporting physicians, nurses and patient information. The role also provides clerical support for the Emergency Services department. Qualifications Experience Required: * One-year previous direct patient care experience in a hospital, pre hospital or emergency setting (preferred) * ECG experience (preferred) Special Skills Required: * Basic knowledge of medical terminology Licensure/Certification Required: * Current BLS certification CT CPRBLS * Current EMT 1, CNA or MA certification CT EMA, CT CNA, CT MA (preferred) * Phlebotomy certification CT PHLEMOT (preferred) Dignity Health Santa Cruz CA
