Observational research (OR) makes important contributions to drug

development, commercialization, and safety evaluation. OR contributes

evidence regarding the frequency and distribution of disease, the natural

history and clinical burden of disease, the design of clinical trials, cost and

utilization patterns, and the safety and effectiveness of therapies. There is

increasing demand for information from OR studies by regulatory and

reimbursement authorities. The Center for Observational Research (CfOR)

was created to address this imperative.

This CfOR Manager will have responsibilities for various research activities in

the Inflammation Therapeutic Area (TA) and reports directly to a Therapeutic

Area Director. A CfOR Manager is recognized as a strong scientific

contributor and is a first or contributing author for papers in peer reviewed

journals or for internal reports that enhance the company's mission. This

position will be located at Amgen's Thousand Oaks headquarters.

Key Activities include, but are not limited to:

Contributes to research strategy within the product teams and observational

research TA

Incidence/prevalence of disease in US, EU, Asia, and emerging market countries

Executes or manages research projects involving the analysis of multiple

Executes pharmacovigilance studies

Provides safety research support across the life cycle of Amgen products

Supports development of risk management plans

Conducts literature reviews and prepares research reports and scientific


Stays abreast of the latest developments in the field of observational

research and drug development

Promotes awareness, understanding, and use of observational research


Supports relationships with key leaders in observational research

Provides input into observational research department meetings

Communicates significant scientific information to a variety of audiences

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate Degree


Master's Degree and 3 years of Scientific experience


Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of Scientific experience


Associate's degree and 10 years of Scientific experience


High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Epidemiology or other subject with high observational research


  • Experience in the design, execution, and analysis of observation research

studies within Pharmaceutical or Public Health setting

  • Experience in research to support drug development

  • Experience in observational research project planning and management

  • Experience communicating observational research information (written and


  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams

  • Record of publications in observational research or clinical journals

Lead team of Solutions Architects to drive excellence in solutions development, solutions selling, and opportunity closure through strategic engagement with assigned customer base to maximize sales efforts. What we're looking for... You'll need to have: * Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline or 4 additioanl years of experience indirectrelated equivalent experience. * 10+ years' experience in a variety of disciplines related to the selling of IT and managed telecommunications solutions. Disciplines to include… * Data and IP Services * Managed Network Services / Security Solutions * Managed Mobility Solutions * Cloud Services * Data Center Outsourcing * Unified Communications & Collaboration Services * IT Applications Management * 7+ years in a customer facing leadership role with accountability for end to end delivery (i.e. Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Service Delivery Architect... ) * 5+ years architecture experience in conceptualization, definition and development of IT and/or telecom based products and service * 5+years' experience delivering customer presentations and preparing customer-facing material such as RFP responses, proactive proposals and network/system designs. * Versed in TOGAF and/or ITIL standards for architecture and delivery. * Financial analysis experience (P&L, ROI, cost analysis, business case development, etc) Even better if you have: * MS or MBA. * Current and valid industry certifications in one or more of the following: * Cisco: Cisco Certified Design Associate/ Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCDA/CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional/ Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCNP/CCDP), Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCVP) or higher * Microsoft, Tandberg, and/or Polycom * Experience in sales or service of Fortune 500 companies * Successful project delivery in a Fortune 100 company * "Big 4" consulting experience When you join Verizon...
