Observational research (OR) makes important contributions to drug

development, commercialization, and safety evaluation. OR contributes

evidence regarding the frequency and distribution of disease, the natural

history and clinical burden of disease, the design of clinical trials, cost and

utilization patterns, and the safety and effectiveness of therapies. There is

increasing demand for information from OR studies by regulatory and

reimbursement authorities. The Center for Observational Research (CfOR)

was created to address this imperative.

This CfOR Manager will have responsibilities for various research activities in

the Inflammation Therapeutic Area (TA) and reports directly to a Therapeutic

Area Director. A CfOR Manager is recognized as a strong scientific

contributor and is a first or contributing author for papers in peer reviewed

journals or for internal reports that enhance the company's mission. This

position will be located at Amgen's Thousand Oaks headquarters.

Key Activities include, but are not limited to:

Contributes to research strategy within the product teams and observational

research TA

Incidence/prevalence of disease in US, EU, Asia, and emerging market countries

Executes or manages research projects involving the analysis of multiple

Executes pharmacovigilance studies

Provides safety research support across the life cycle of Amgen products

Supports development of risk management plans

Conducts literature reviews and prepares research reports and scientific

manuscripts

Stays abreast of the latest developments in the field of observational

research and drug development

Promotes awareness, understanding, and use of observational research

methods

Supports relationships with key leaders in observational research

Provides input into observational research department meetings

Communicates significant scientific information to a variety of audiences

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate Degree

OR

Master's Degree and 3 years of Scientific experience

OR

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of Scientific experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Scientific experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Epidemiology or other subject with high observational research

content

  • Experience in the design, execution, and analysis of observation research

studies within Pharmaceutical or Public Health setting

  • Experience in research to support drug development

  • Experience in observational research project planning and management

  • Experience communicating observational research information (written and

oral)

  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams

  • Record of publications in observational research or clinical journals

VIEW JOBS 3/15/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-13T00:00 The Associate Store Manager is responsible in partnership with the Store Manager and Co-Manager for the day to day management of store operations, merchandising functions and guest experience through coaching and direction of priorities to associates in order to drive sales and profitability. RESPONSIBILITIES * Assist the Store Manager/Co-Manager in achieving planned sales and profitability by effectively merchandising the store, exceeding guest expectations, leading the store team and controlling expenses. * Ensure that the store is properly staffed by supporting recruitment of associates and active interviewing. Maintain a quality work environment that encourages the retention and development of associates. * Coach associates by prioritizing and delegating daily work assignments, giving timely feedback and recognition for individual performance development. * Assist in writing performance appraisals for the individual development of associates. Provide feedback to Store Manager/ Co-Manager for recommending increase amounts associated with the merit Performance Appraisal. * Monitor departmental performance goals utilizing necessary reports to strategize in the planning and execution of department activities. * Complete administrative tasks including assigning departments for the annual inventory, merchandise counts, price changes, transfers, returns and damages. * Promotes the Gordmans guest experience by ensuring every guest receives prompt and friendly service through role modeling professional behavior and by providing direction as needed to associates to ensuring they are responsive to guest needs. * For Associate Managers with Stockroom responsibilities: Accountability for Operational Excellence procedures including lin bound freight processes, merchandise placement, Markdowns. * Follow company policies and procedures maintain a safe work environment and document all guest and associate incidents timely. * Supervise associates while leading and developing personnel through effective communication, competency development and appropriate position-specific training; including Credit, Synapse and all company profit driven programs. Prioritizes and delegates work assignments and provides feedback on the completion of daily tasks. * Conducts observations and audits, and reviews productivity of the store associate team to obtain proactive information regarding status of projects including providing feedback and recognition to associates on results achieved. * Performs other related duties and special projects as may be assigned from time to time by Store Leadership. * Ability to detect common signs of dishonest behaviors and safeguard company assets. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS * Proven track record of supervision and development of hourly Associates in assigned area by training, mentoring, assigning duties and providing recognition to accomplish the company objectives. * Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead others towards the accomplishment of the store and company. * Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately with minimal direct supervision. * Ability to Model and provide direction to hourly Associates on proper Guest Service approaches to ensure the Guests, complaints and issues are successfully resolved within company guidelines and standards. * Ability to merchandise and manage presentation procedures and store operations. * Ability to communicate in a clear manner. * Knowledge of company services, products, policies and practices. * Ability to discern dishonest activity or dangerous behavior either by associates or guests. * Is knowledgeable and can follow all Store Safety and Emergency procedures. * Ability to anticipate and solve problems. * Ability to Open and Close the Store per company guidelines. * Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background screen. Requirements REQUIREMENTS * Must be 18 years of age. Under the age of 21 requires approval. * Associate's degree or equivalent retail experience. * Must provide open availability for scheduled work shifts as business needs dictate. (Including nights, weekends & Holidays). * Maintains confidentiality of store financial, sales and company information at all times. * Ability to stand and continuously perform essential job functions for up to a 10 hour shift.
