Job Summary
This position is responsible for the preparation of exam rooms and ultrasound equipment to then produce ultrasonic recordings (2D and/or 3D) of internal organs ordered by supervising providers.
What you will do
Complete provider requested examinations by operating ultrasound equipment to produce and record images of the motion, shape, and composition of blood, organs, tissues, or bodily masses, such as fluid accumulations.
Prepare patients for examination including the rooms and necessary equipment.
Provide preliminary report/comments of sonography examinations for use by the interpreting physician.
Review sonography examination results to make sure they meet facility standards for Quality Assurance before findings are released for interpretation.
Clean, check, and maintain sonographic equipment, submitting maintenance requests or performing minor repairs as necessary.
Document any incidental findings that might impact patient safety or patient care and provide that information to the interpreting physician.
Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information.

Ability to communicate with the patient in a manner appropriate to the patients ability to understand
Able to operate Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS)
Licenses and Certifications
Sonographer certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Upon Hire Required
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification Upon Hire Required
Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification Upon Hire Required
CPR/Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification issued by American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
