The role you'll contribute:

Provides direct and indirect patient care in the obstetrics, operating room, and newborn nursery setting. Communicates with nurses/team leaders/coworkers, as appropriate about the patient's clinical condition. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition. Additionally, is able to perform general patient care technician duties in all departments with adequate supervision.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Provide bedside patient care including vital signs, blood sugars, baths, feeding and repositioning

• Scrub in for Cesarean Sections

• Assist with circumcision set up and instrument cleaning

• Set up delivery table and cleaning delivery instruments

• Turn over the OB OR between cases

• Stock patient rooms, OBED, OB OR

• Provide assistance to nurses when providing patient care

• Provide excellent customer service

• Attend Deliveries and assist RN to provide care

• Secretary duties to include but are not limited to answering phones, Access controlled entry door visitor screening, supply management, and management of the delivery register

• Cart Checks

• Performs 24-hour testing on newborns

o Hearing Screens

o Lab work

o Critical Congenital Heart Disease (CCHD) Screening

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Ability to provide basic care for newborns

• Basic knowledge of pregnancy and labor process

• Ability to maintain sterile fields

• Surgical Instrument Terminology

• Knowledge of Caesarean Section procedural responsibilities

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or GED

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

• Maintains CPR
