Lakeside Women's Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahomais seeking a full-time OB Hospitalist/Nocturnist.
The OB Hospitalist/Nocturnist will partner with thephysicians of Lakeside Women's Hospital to provide continuity of care afterhours for all hospitalized patients in our small community hospital. Thisposition provides high quality patient care and adds to the patient experiencefor their birth and hospital stay.
This position will provide a night time presencewith OB/GYN physician back-up and represent all that makes our medical staff,hospital staff and facility attractive. This includes: good quality physicians,rare drop-in patients, genuinely collegial providers, openness to new ideas andchange, a Board committed to their work, substantive physician leadership,opportunity for presence on hospital committees, geographic diversity,financially sound, and a culture of loyal, friendly and experienced employees.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year ofexperience post training.

The OB Hospitalist Physician/Lakeside Nocturnist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provides care during labor and delivery of patients, performs delivery on behalf of attending physician when they are not available
Thoroughly evaluates and manages each patient appropriately and documents information completely by use of EMR, written notes and/or dictation in a timely manner. Records history and findings with clarity and precision.
Provides care to hospitalized patients, demonstrates excellent diagnostic skills, interpretive skill of test results, and procedural skills. Enters orders within scope of practice, including GYN, and medical surgical
Identifies relevant medical issues accurately and uses appropriate procedures and testing.
Prepares and signs medical records related reports in a timely manner.
Enters professional charges for management of labor, ED visit, surgical procedures and assists
Makes appropriate referrals to service and other providers.
Provides coverage of drop-in cases and managing unassigned patient population.
Provides emergency care and stabilizes patients including those with a private physician, until the patient's attending physician arrives.
Provides surgical assistance for OB service line, including cesarean births, if available.
Assist in developing protocols, collecting statistics, and other quality initiatives as directed by the Medical Director.
Supports the hospital's organizational strategic plan, program metrics and outcome measures.
Provides detailed hand-off with attending physician.
Provides education to nursing staff to include case reviews, strip reviews, mock drill, etc.
Takes outpatient phone calls from patients and outside physicians and provides appropriate medical advice and documentation of calls.
Reports to assigned Medical Director, Chief of Staff and President
Required Physical Demands (Subject to Reasonable Accommodation):
Keyboarding/Dexterity: Frequently; activity exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time
Standing/Walking: Occasionally; activity exists up to 1/3 of the time

Exposure to hazardous risks, including potential for exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, and chemicals. Potential for bodily injury related to lifting and incidents of workplace violence. Must follow universal safety precautions. Exposed to constant interruptions, noise, disagreeable odors, and assorted chemicals.

Oklahoma MD or DO licensure
Board Certified or Board Eligible
Completed OB/GYN Residency
Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written)
