MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS REQUIRED:

1.Educational Requirements: Required Master's Degree in Special Education or Administrative/Directors License preferred

2.Experience: Minimum 5 years experience working with students with significant behaviors

SALARY BENEFITS: Salary range $52,750-96,000

ASSIGNED WORKDAYS PER YEAR: 200 days

BENEFITS: Eligible

GENERAL FUNCTIONS/PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support administration in supervising the separate day program and provide leadership for staff and students.

  • Demonstrate ability to work with personnel in the separate day program

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents by projecting genuine care and concern.

  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Demonstrate initiative and effective leadership to address complex problems/issues, and collaboratively work with others to develop and implement problem solving strategies.

  • Reflect on and learn from personal experiences and feedback of others to grow personally and professionally.

  • Manage time effectively, yet be willing to work beyond regular work hours to complete assigned duties.

  • Be an example of exemplary adult behavior for students.

  • Be a model of regular attendance and on-time arrival.

  • Models integrity, ethical conduct, professionalism, and respect towards all school stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborate with building administration in operation of separate day school program.

  • Implement Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS) and levels of support for the program to include a system for tracking student behavior data

  • Provide leadership to staff of the separate day program to include positive behavior supports and crisis intervention.

  • Assist in creating a daily schedule for elementary, middle school, and high school students

  • Assist in overseeing curriculum implementation and best instructional practices

  • Provide behavior support services to students enrolled in program

  • Oversee the transition of students to and from the separate day program

  • Establish connections with outside service providers that support students with social/emotional and behavioral needs

  • Assist administration in providing feedback to certified and support staff

  • Serve as Public Agency Representative at case conferences for separate day program

  • Coordinate with therapists to provide speech, occupational and physical therapy services for students

  • Communicate with transportation department needs for students

  • Coordinate coverage for classrooms when needed

  • Assist administration with program budget and projected student enrollment

  • Organize parent education nights for families within the program

  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
