Position Summary: Performs drawing and administrative functions for marina/dock construction and precast concrete production by preparing clear, complete and accurate plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches/notes, contract changes and/or bid specifications.

Produces accurate and detailed material lists based on completed drawings and provides assistance to material procurement staff and Quality Control department throughout project. Candidates will be required to complete an administrative background check and to pass a pre-employment drug screen and participate in random drug screening per our Drug Free Workplace policy. Dependability for work is crucial.

Essential Duties and

Responsibilities:
Creates construction and fabrication drawings in accordance with company standards and design engineer's directions and specifications. Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.

Makes any adjustments or changes necessary or desired. Prepares flotation calculations for each float module in a dock system. Creates fabrication details using the flotation calculations to ensure that each float module will attain the designed freeboard.

Compiles and maintains both paper and data files on all projects for a historical record of all drawings completed. Consults with and assists departments in determining needs and developing specifications for goods and services Establishes and maintains contact with vendors and negotiates with them to obtain best and most cost-effective goods and services for BMI Demonstrates and applies safety rules and techniques. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs construction of marinas by installing floating docks in the water at the job site per blueprint specifications and per direction of Crew Lead and/or Construction Project Manager; Operates equipment and machinery in a knowledgeable, safe, and effective manner; Follows and applies safety rules and techniques; Reports any problems with construction duties to supervisor; May operate forklift to transport floats; places and aligns floats into correct order and position, following blueprint specifications; Uses hardware, such as bolts, washers, rods, lumber, and uses necessary hand tools; Positions and fastens all required hardware and materials onto floats using wrenches, rubber mallets, and others appropriate tools, ensuring floats are assembled correctly; and Performs other duties as assigned.
